So, Sunday at Chicksands. I know you don't like early starts, but it does get busy on the 4X and jump areas. As long as I get back for lunchtime, I'm happy.

I have quite a lot to do at the weekend so an early start won't go a miss. What time do you suggest?

Im a Cambridge mountain biker.... no really!

I do 1-2 trips up to the lakes/northumberland a year but other than that its just Thetford forest black route for me!

My favorite place i go is kielder Water/Forest in Northumberland by a mile.

Do want to go for weekends etc now ive finally got a decent bike so open to any suggestions?!

Anyway just saying hello to fellow flat landers

Hi apoc_reg,
I've not ridden Kielder but i do like going north. I have ridden Glentress & Innerleithen, the lakes and Grizedale all of which I can high recommend.
There's a small group (which seems to be getting smaller) of us going over to Wales in August, maybe Coed-Y-Brennin.
There will be 2-3 of us, maybe more, heading of to Chicksands on Sunday (it's my first visit) so you're welcome to join us there.
I'm always up for biking weekends away so will have to discuss that option.

What bike are you running?

Looking at the vids there are jumps, four track, trail etc it all depends on what you're into! We are mainly into cross country/trail riding, probably not up to the standard of those in the video but willing to give it a go. See if us 40+s can give the youngstrers a run for their money

Chicksands sounds good for Sunday PM. Havn't been to Thetford for a while be good to get there on a nice day. Is it £5 to ride there?

It's jump/short downhill biased but a bit of XC.

Well guys, I think you can count me out for a while. I appear to have damaged a few toes, attempting the reckless feat of.......walking down the stairs. Obviously beyond my skill level.

Off to A&E as soon as the kids have got to school. :oops:

Chicksands on Sunday afternoon looks ideal for me. I want to watch the build up and start of the grand prix, so can get down there for 3pm.

Ouch! 2 broken toes. I'm off adventure for 2 weeks. Good luck at Chicksands - it's quite inspiring just watching the kids on the jumps.

Steve, hope the toes soon mend. I'm with Carl, I'd like to watch the start of the grand prix. I don't know how long the trails are at chicksands but they look good fun and i'm still up for a blast around there later on sunday.

Thetford is 6 quid per car then the riding is free!

I meant chicksands yeah, its 44mins from me apparently so 3pm is fine.

Im not that experienced with that sort of track so hopefully i wont slow anyone down to much

We can do Thetford another time if the others prefer Chicksands tomorrow.

Oh its Reg by the way, apoc is just something ive used for as long as i can remember, dont ask why i dont remember!
