I could go faster, but my back hurts [:(] Anyone got a remedy? I can't change to a lower gear, as I've ran out on the road bike [:D] I can't leave my bag behind and it is quite heavy. Is it better to wear them high or low on your back?

Personaly preferance - I like my bag high on my back.
Is there anything in your bag you can leave at work? I leave shoes, a jacket and coat in the office so I don't have to carry them. Also a spare set of clothes to ride home in, in case I get soaked on the way in.
What's your lowest gear - 30X19 ? That's what I've got on the commuter, but I've changed the cassette a few times....
I used to have 44X17 in my roadie days - riding up and down the mountains of South Wales! (okay, so I was young, foolish and a lot fitter in those days)[:D]

I only carry my work trousers and t-shirt, plus locks and tools to work. Shoes and other sundries are left here. It's just not helping my back I think.

I have been informed I may have a rugby match on the same weekend, which is a buggar.
I shall see if I can find someone to replace me for the match me thinks.

1/ Are all the team camps going to close together?
2/ If so I suggest we all meet up at a designated are before descending on the site.
We might be going down on friday afternoon, so that might scupper item 2.

[:D] or should it be [8D].
I'll get some police line tape for our area, closer to the time I'd need to know who is taking what gazebo so I can make enough room.
Oh, and we'll want to be as close to the catering facilities as possible.

TBH, the catering facilities should be set up right next to the start/finish area so the catering team can hand out bacon rolls to our riders as they go past.....[:p]
Now, as daft as it sounds, there is some logic behind this.....imagine the scenario for the other teams....at 3 in the morning, you're cold, tired, hungry and some git from Team Cake is being handed a bacon roll...MWHAHAHAHAHAHA! [:D]

<waves> Njello!
Mrs. Yak here, also known as Nov (yes, I'm fully aware November is a month) or Maite (which is my real name and not to be pronounced as mate :P )
Just wanted to say I'm looking forward to this and I will help us being the best support crew ever! (I can do this by eating cake, no?)
I would bring the famous Dutch cake, but as I myself usually hardly survive the flight over I doubt a cake would. But me and Yak could perhaps bake our (in)famous chocolate cake, which is very very good. One bite of that would also surely give you energy for the next.. erm.. month0 -

As I was very (a little too) proud of the cake in question, I have taken pictures from it's start til we actually cut off the first slice.. Which made about 8 pictures all of a cake. I promise to post one when I get home.. Although it tasted better than it looked (it was made of chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, cocoa powder, chocolate and more chocolate) As I am a diabetic, I had to give myself a lot of insulin to cope with it [:D]0 -
We still wont believe you, Matt will confirm this.
