  • This is disastrous for the race.
Jumbo procession all the way to Madrid.

The other two UAE riders are still there though.
Your confidence in Soler is duly noted.

  • Roglic has no luck at all
“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!
  • So, if it's 3 Jumbo vs 2 UAE at the bottom of the Tourmalet (with the stage win up for grabs), how do we see it playing out?

I've expected Kuss to win for a while now; however, Soler is only 26s behind and Kuss could easily crack under pressure, so I don't think it is a procession yet.

What is Kirby talking about that Evenepoel would be beating JV if there weren't three of them? Evenepoel is obviously unwell to be dropped like that.

You could have saved pixels and left it there.

Thomas now dropped after looking lively early on.
  • Ok, what happened between the descent from Aubisque and the start of the Spandelles that saw Landa +Jonas and Kuss +Carusso go off the front, and where/why is Roglic?

Which Jumbo leader is going to attach on spandelles? My guess is Vingergaard.

Your crystal ball is being spot on so far this race.
  • I’d like my ‘Jumbo aren’t Movistar’ comment struck from the record please your honour

Remco dropped on the earlier climb - looks a bit rough. Looks like he’s losing more time on this climb too.

Remco isn't gonna win many GTs if he keeps getting ill on them
  • where/why is Roglic?

They've come back to collect him now.

I thought Dan Lloyd was making reference to putting up with Kirby when he apologised to viewers who have been with them since the start.

Down to around a dozen riders with 59km left. Four are from JV.

:D Bernal will drop back on the Tourmalet and have exactly the same chat with Thomas!

I reckon Remco could be ok on this one. The tourmalet is super steady from that side apart from through the town halfway up and the final 500m kicker round the hairpin.

Roglic wants to go for this but I can’t see Kuss being able to drop Remco. If it was upto to JV I reckon he’d solely support Kuss but Roglic is older and probably keener for two tours this year.

    Erm.. i never said this….
This is like the polar opposite of @gsk82 on the ToB thread :)

Must be weird for Jumbo, I assume their pan was to just set a defensive pace and then maybe attack on the Tourmalet but then suddenly found one of the biggest rivals and many other riders dropped by mid stage.
  • If Almeida does get back on, there will be 6 Jumbots in the lead group.

The most surprising thing left to happen in this race, would be if one of them had a bad day.

Carlton “the incline is very very tough, it never falls below 7.5% other than when it does and drops to 5% in the middle”
