Excellent race, Archibald gave it everything for a medal but Kopecky had her marked. Lost it earlier in the overall event, must have been one of the top points scorers in the final event.

The omnium is the best track race-set, because the elimination race and the points race are so good, that when combined, the omnium becomes great.

My niece's fiance and her younger brother both competed in the age group BMX races yesterday. Very cool to watch them on the streams. Looked like such a great atmosphere with so many riders there.

Hard work for the announcers with the overlapping races!

Does anyone know why MvdP doesn't use a dropper post? I've never ridden with one, but I can see the advantages.

I assume he will also be gloveless which is more understandable.

Flatland BMX is rather fun in a pleasantly old-skewl way...

Very Dogtown vs Zboys (on bikes)

For a long time the reason for most of them was weight. I can't think of a better one.

They are game changing even to mere mortals.

The world of mountain biking is very different from the one I used to play around with. I used a rigid...bike.

That will frustrate the PTP crowd.

Just caught her sitting in the grass verge.
Was she having a bit of a tantrum?

No, just disappointed I think. Apparently she crashed in the mixed TTT relay

I don't wish physical harm to anyone, but I'm kinda of hoping Grace Brown gets a puncture or two. Would be delighted to see Anna Henderson get a medal.

I hope she can maintain her form for Saturday.
Surprised Neff was so far back.

Rain could throw a spanner in the works, and make things interesting, particularly in the men's race; it's the one possible weakness Nino has - he doesn't like wet conditions.

The top-class Slovenian downhill (esp giant slalom) skier from a decade or so ago, Tina Maze (twice Olympic gold medallist, 4 times World Champion), is also involved in trying to raise money and procure help from outside. Maze's own home town, Crna na Koroskem, was flooded and in her words “left in ruins“.

Retired for about 5 years now, she, together with Slovenian cross-country skier Nataša Lačen, met Ursula von der Leyen today in Crna, and they walked around (in wellies, everywhere still looked under an inch or so of water) and inspected some of the damage there.
Afterwards von der Leyen announced (although not necessarily because of Tina Maze's persuasion) that the EU will give Slovenia 100 million Euro this year and 300 million next year to help rebuild what has been damaged or destroyed.

I’m not sure why we have the women’s worlds included in PTP as it’s the only time they’re involved. I don’t follow women’s racing so have no idea, just pic the favourite. Was she injured?

Politics aside, you have to hand it to Dygert. A proper come back. If you need a reminder of where she was, be careful opening the right hand image...

There seemscto be a suggestion that MVDP is getting a helping hand from the organisers?
