SDWorx have not ridden this tour as smart as MOV .

Once again the peloton are struggling to make inroads into the breakaway’s lead.

Nope, they ballsed it up again in part thanks to a massive pile up. Norsgaard did brilliantly to launch a long sprint as it was looking like they were going to get swept up.

Ludicrous to put that chicane in so near the finish just to get across the team tracks.

That chase was perfectly calibrated to within about 100m. Unfortunately the 100m in question were those beyond the finish line.

(arguably it wouldn't have been that close though if Norsgaard had shared a bit more of the work in the last 2km)

In fairness it didn’t seem that difficult to negotiate.
    Manon Lloyd said as much.

Norsgard having that flyer in the last 500 while being in the break for 80 k is pretty impressive

Can’t work out if the women are racing aggressively or if the strength in depth is so lacking they struggle to organise a chase. Probably doesn’t help that SD Worx don’t seem too bothered in pulling back breaks and for GC there is really only one important stage.

Skalniak-Sojka deserves a lot of credit that the winner came from the break.
I wasn't sitting watching but doing a job which meant I was walking back and forth between rooms, and almost every time I walked by and looked at the screen, it appeared to be her pulling them along.
At least she got the combative rider award.

Was that the 'hanging on to the car' (Nibali style) mentioned in commentary?

    indeed.

Quite an entertaining stage, had the time to watch it on TV rather than replay. Always great when the break makes it. Not been good for the sprinters.

I really think it’s the latter, for several reasons, only 30-40 riders are really capable of 8 days.

Whoever put that chicane in just before the flamme rouge yesterday should be barred from organising a race ever again. A crash there was inevitable.

I still can’t work out why they didn’t just finish the other side of the tracks.

They had to get right back, to tell us what it's like, across the track
