I saw a. Beatles band in the Cavern a couple of years back. Lennon was frighteningly similar, McCartney? Not so much …

I guess it’s a case of choosing between a left-handed bassist or someone who looks vaguely like him (I’m assuming being a below average singer is an absolute requirement for authenticity).

Apparently Lennon & McC (not the real ones) were brothers!

Summer vibe, nice.

James were on BBC Breakfast this morning (well, the lead singer and bassist) boasting about how, when they last did Glastonbury, Michael Evis looked at their set list and commented they weren't doing Sit Down. He then asked them to do it for him and they refused. I'm surprised they're back this year.

Before Dexys Kevin Rowland was in a punk band called the Killjoys. They were playing at a club in Leeds and dear old Kevin was so in to his performance that he failed to notice one of my mates tying is shoe laces together. There was a bit of a riot when Kevin fell over🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

LCD Soundsystem at Glastonbury were pretty damn good last night.
PJ Harvey also very impressive.
As someone currently a bit sofa bound and watching a lot of TV, those would be my highlights from day 1.

Best thing that can happen at Glasto is a huge crowd pulling pyramid headliner that you don't like. Frees you up to see the emptier, better stuff.

Perfect Saturday night headliner tbf.

No.
Ive had more interesting hovis white bread slices than that lot.
Bland, banal dross that is more appropriate for primary school children than fully grown adults.

(Should add I am siting through this concert for a second time as my wife enjoyed it so much she’s showing my 5 year old. More the right level - he dresses like a primary school teacher)

Just watched The Streets set - absolute legend.

If you were on site you could go to any number of other stages and all sorts of actual edgy venues.
even at home you can go on iPlayer and watch other sets.
For the masses, it’s an incredible and unique show and by the crowds it’s field it’s clearly a popular choice .

I hope it’s not the case for your kids.

Coldplay aren’t that bad. At least they haven’t deemed their music so good they gifted it to anyone with an iPhone whether they wanted it or not.

Coldplay and U2 are two of the 'big' headliners that I have avoided over the years and had a great time on the smaller stages or just wandering amongst the crazy nonsense.
I remain convinced that missing McCartney on the pyramid to see Toots and The Maytalls at West Holts was one of my best Glastonbury headliner decisions.

Depends if you want that communal pilgrimage energy or not. Everyone who went talks about how amazing the walk back up the hill was.

I've done a few pyramid headliners in my time, I don't recall walking back afterwards being in any kind of a highlight.
