If it wasn't a genuine rift they'd have done it a while back. The prospect of £50m probably focuses the mind, plus Liam seems to be in a more reasonable frame of mind and by all accounts putting on decent shows. Also both have realised nobody much is really interested in anything they do solo.
It could be an amazing show, but also could be a horrific crowd to be part of.

Nicely timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary. I'd say I'm a professional cynic but that probably wouldn't be appropriate. I look forward to an even less surprising announcement when the Glastonbury line up is announced.

Perfect 30th anniversary shows would have been this year - Liam did that on his own.
Announcement says the announced dates will be their only shows in Europe next year. My guess is there's not enough money in appearing at Glastonbury.

Cant see Glastonbury happening (and its already been ruled out via statements) . Its before their own shows so they wouldn't do that first, and 2026 is a festival fallow year and the chances of them still going after that are slim to say the least.
I've always been ambivalent about them reforming, but now that they have announced it, i'm all aboard the hype train :D

Only a few small bands. It's definitely one of these new fangled Nostaligia festivals that seem to be popping up. (One Aussie Trio called Germaine who were very sweet and earnest and knew their way around their instruments who I added to Spotify)
I'm not sure we'd go if it wasnt so close, but while as it remains pretty cheap it's still quite a good community event as well.
We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Saw James in Kingston on Friday - a very rare concert down the road I've been disappointed with. Mainly because they charged £36 (twice the usual amount) and played 10 songs, almost all from the new album which I'm not all that into. Decent show with an amazing backdrop screen though.
Not a pisstake like Tears for Fears, but for not that much less than you'd pay for their normal shows, I'd expect a bit more.
Fontaines DC tonight (for £16) - don't mind them playing plenty from their new album

Going to see The Undertones this Saturday. No Feargal, but still looking forward to it. Small venue up in Northampton - should be a good night.

Were great earlier this year, in a small venue.
If you’re 60s, bald and porky you’ll fit right in (I only qualified on one count).

Actually none of the above, although I am thinning a bit on top 😊. What I've found with the last few gigs like this was that all the middles aged blokes were at the back holding their squidgy plastic glasses of beer and all the 'proper' punks (the ones you never seem to see outside of a punk gig) up front in the mosh pit.

Fontaines DC last night - really good. And the place was heaving. Never seen the floor so full. Apparently it was the second lowest percentage of no shows they've seen - only behind when The 1975 last came to town.

I am now doubly irrited that I forgot to try for tickets to Fontaines DC, I am a big fan of their new stuff too.
Although my wife is reassured that she was right to go and see James at the O2

Saw Pokey Lafarge at Beautiful Days - performance of the weekend, he's touring just now - a recommended gig!

Brighton Music Hall on BH Monday for the afternoon - It's a buskers stage with loads of outdoor seating. A local band called Legend Has It doing crowd pleasing covers for 3 hours. Sun was shining, good vibes and beer flowing too. A nice way to while away a sunny afternoon.

General Admission for Oasis at Wembley is £151 - for all standing tickets, no option to pay more to stand in the front section. I'm out.

That's assuming you can get any tickets - imagine they will be in demand. Was practically impossible to get tickets for the Sex Pistols reunion recently.

I am fairly sure standing tickets will be available for Wembley on the face value resale site in the week before the shows.

Yeah, I'll not panic if I don't get any tomorrow. Massive multiple gigs being sold almost a year in advance means loads of plans change in that time. I bought tickets to see LG at Knebworth a day or so before the gig last year for about £30.

Go and see Noasis at the Electric Ballroom and have £130 left for a nice meal.

I’d definitely say he’d lost it in the later years of Oasis but if you watch any live performances of him over the last 4-5 years and even doing the recent Definitely Maybe tour, I’d say his voice is far better now. Less drugs, smoking etc. seems to have made a difference.

One of the best gigs I ever went to was three tribute bands in one go - Ramones, Pistols and The Clash tributes down at the 100 Club. A massive £13 to get in and great evening.

I think a good tribute band in a small venue will be much better than the real thing in a stadium. I really don't like stadium gigs as I find them soulless if you are too far back, and they're really expensive.
A colleague saw Noasis and some other 90s tribute acts together, said it was a great night and everyone enjoyed it. A lot of the musicians appeared in several of the bands so they must be on the same circuit. They are usually accomplished musicians and a tribute act has to be on it and do all the crowd pleasing stuff to get a good reputation. The real thing can get away with experimenting or having off days which is disappointing for the audience, but they get away with it because of who they are.

He’s rented a massive house fairly close to me this summer in the middle of nowhere which has been his retreat while he prepared for and did his summer tour dates. He’s an absolute pro these days.

A friend just posted a photo of her ticket from when she went to see them in Manchester Academy while she was in University in 1994. The price was £9.50. The Bank of England inflation calculator tells me that would be £19.42 ‘in today’s money’.

Plus potato.
Only ever been to one gig at a big venue (Guns n Roses at the O2) and it was a bit crap. Needed a bloody telescope to see the band and the atmosphere was non-existent. At least it was a corporate freebie.

Neatly done! Linking Oasis to tribute bands. Not for nothing have they been described as a Beatles tribute band.

Oasis getting all high horse about nobody being allowed to sell tickets at more than face value, then letting ticketmaster do it anyway is very funny.

Honestly not getting why Oasis is getting so much mainstream media coverage. One great album 30 years ago, then went fully Beatles tribute band.
