I went last night. It was absolutely brilliant I thought. The energy and skill at that age is something else and that catalogue is mind blowing really. Have a great time!

Why can’t people just not keep getting up to the bar or loo? All night , constant churn. Bah ….

If anyone is a Pixies/Breeders aficionado, I would thoroughly recommend Kim Deal's new (and debut) solo album.

Come to think of it, I would also recommend if you're not a Pixies / Breeders aficionado

  • Since it's release, I've been listening to little else. It is a cracking album, wonderfully poignant in places.

When I've not been listening to it, I've been acquainting myself with the albums that I've (somehow) 'missed' : 'Mountain Battles' and 'All Nerve'.

Suffice to say, I've been on a huge Kim Deal tip the last 3 weeks.

This is pretty much what I've been doing including listening to past Breeders albums that I'm not too familiar with.

I bought the first Breeders album "Pod" (on vinyl at the time because that's all I bought back then) and have Last Splash but yesterday was listening to Title TK that I hadn't heard before.

Seeing the tickets coming back available for the Paul McCartney tickets makes me think there are going to be lots of people who paid the platinum prices for Oasis who will have serious buyers' regret next year.

Two Beatles, one Rolling Stone, about as many fireworks as you can probably get away with indoors, some of the greatest songs ever written, a genuinely great use of technology to get Lennon's vocals on I've Got A Feeling. A few times I just couldn't quite take in what I was seeing.

Sure, his voice is that of an 82 year old, his drummer is very much "more is more" and he could probably have retired the backdrop video with Johnny Depp in it, but none of that matters.

But why is every song a singalong?

Dave in row G, I'm not impressed that you know the words to Beatles songs, and I didn't pay £180 to hear you singing Blackbird.

I'm sure it was nice to be able to say you were there and saw them live but imo all Paul did was prove that everyone has a retirement point, and he is past his.

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I'm glad he hasn't stopped. He might not be able to sing Blackbird like he used to, but nobody is going to sing it better than him, still.

When I saw Brian Wilson a few years back, that was very much a "box ticked, I've seen him" but he's not really there anymore. This definitely wasn't that, even if you think it sounds like it on clips. He's an old man with an old man's voice, but that's fine.

For me he pissed on his chips with Goodbye to Broad Street and We all Stand Together. I actually paid good money to see these. Actually me and the Mrs W to be might have got in on a two for one. But it was a rip off and he’s done nothing since to lift him in my opinion.

These gigs showed he definitely shouldn’t have knocked it on the head. He’s been overwhelmingly well received. You all can stuff your negativity.
