  • Are you watching with a delay? 2.6km to go - three left.

Mount Babadag - sounds a bit Tolkienesque

One does not simply ride up Babadag

Looking at the odd team car pulling up at the side of the road, broken, one does not simply drive up it either.
  • It's a right stinker this climb.

Lutsenko "attacks" in the last km.

  • Bear in mind that most really, really steep climbs don't look that bad on TV. It tends to flatten them.

    Then look at this.

Casting from phone to TV...always messes it up

  • I did enjoy Brian Smith confidently telling Carlton Kirby that he was wrong and that Vine was actually going really well right up to the second he got dropped. Eventually rolled in 12 minutes down.

Does this mean we can expect Lutsenko to get a doping ban soon as it feels that is what normally happens to riders who win the big mountain stage in Turkey.
  • I have just watched that.
    Totally bananas climb.

Whose name happened to be Alejandro Valverde... He had a couple of crashes or I think he would have beaten Valverde.

If Pinot hadn't hit his knee in the 2019 tour I think he could have beaten Bernal.

If he hadn't crashed in 2014 and ridden the Giro in 2018 I think Chris Froome would have 6 Tours.

Apparently sketchy finish coming in Turkey if anyone's a fan of unsuitable sprint run ins.

Denz pulled off a win in Turkey
    ....hell of a pull

  • Downhill, through turns and narrowing streets. Denz just stayed on the front because there was no way for anyone to go any faster seemingly. Walls just let him take it and stayed in second.

    Only a few crashes.
  • Anyone any idea why not all of the World Tour teams are at the Tour of the Guangxi 2.UWT race.
Do some teams have the option to sit some races out?

The rules used to allow them to skip one race per season so unless they've changed I imagine the missing WT teams have decided Guangxi is the race to miss.

All WT teams have to compete in all events that were on the WT calendar before the 2017 expansion. For the others, it's voluntary. I think this year that's Cadel Evans, UAE Tour, OHN, DDV, Strade Bianche, De Panne, Eschborn-Frankfurt and Guangxi.

  • WT Peloton: Yay! Jumbo Visma have pitched up to a WT stage race with only 5 men, a sprinter and no GC hitter
