Weird - did they all think they were racing for the win?

The lack of teams wanting to take it up suggests to me some teams were unaware

Williams should have just about retained the jersey.

Leknessund up to 4th, Kung up to 5th (moves ahead of Lutsenko on same time).

Probably not all of them. Bettiol said his radio wasn't working

Just wondered why the chase was so relaxed when it was very retrievable with 20km to go.

Why is it that when there's a race I can't follow, that the spoiler thread never mentions the actual results?! :D

Because there are plenty of sites out there that carry the full results?

But when people are discussing the end of a race you'd reasonably expect to be able to work out the top 3 or 4 on a stage. It is a spoiler thread after all.

Looking at Williams's statistics just now and he is 59kg at 1.83m. I'm very slightly taller and in my late teens / early 20s was around 10kg heavier despite being ridiculously skinny with single figure body fat and very little upper body muscle so I haven't got a clue how he can be so light!

    Stage 3 Aesch - Grenchen 175km
Another day of heat adaptation as the riders tackle a tough day in the Jura.

Should be another breakaway vs climby sprinters stage.

Forecast for the rest of the week is low 30s, with thunderstorms possibly arriving for Sunday’s final stage TT. Stark contrast to last year’s cold and wet affair.

Yep, there's been numerous times when I've read through a spoiler thread and wondered if the race has actually finished yet. Lots of 'really strong ride, deserved that win' with no mention of who it refers to.

Will try to do better. In this case, just consider yourself as confused as Bettiol.

Today’s breakaway is being kept on a short leash of 2.5mins:
    BOARO Manuele
    BISSEGGER Stefan
    GILBERT Philippe
    SIMMONS Quinn
    ROSSKOPF Joey
    REUTIMANN Mathias

Coverage about to start with 3 categorised climbs and 80km left.

Thomas showing some intent and snatches a sneaky 3" time bonus by going for an intermediate sprint just after Bissegger gets caught. All together with 6km remaining.

Crash. Schachmann at 4km to go.

Schachmann, having gained 2" following Thomas, promptly crashes with a load of others 4km out.

Late challenge from Cofidis rider who'd left it too late. Pidcock looked like he might mount a challenge but faded to 4th.

Coquard was the Cofidis rider closing fast. Kristoff third?

DSM work for the last few km, and Cees Bol comes 7th as usual

Pidcock beat Trentin, Bol and Matthews in a bunch sprint.

Coquard was by far the fastest finisher but really badly positioned at the start.

Seemed to be a lot of QS riders down so possibly.

Pretty sure he was still on the grass as Schachmann was pulling away.

Edit: Nope. He came in with the bunch according to PCS.

    Pretty dominant from Sagan
