  • That sprint wasn’t the straightest.
I hope they don’t get stupid over it.

Wellens relegated to 9th, Barguil on to the podium

    They got it right.
I was worried they might relegate Cosnefroy as well, but he was just the meat in the sandwich.

    This season does miss wva

Disagree but I think Sunday will very much miss him even if he's there I doubt he'll be 100%.

Is Yogi DS for the classics this year? Ineos really stepped it up
Roger Hammond is a DS at Ineos would imagine he’s doing classics

Well I spent all of that thinking it was Fleche Walloon...

Literally just worked that out as you said it.

    I too thought that

Impressive from the Ineos youngsters.....As already said, Turner has probably been their MVP for the classics - always there pulling a big turn, and at the sharp end of races.

Good win Ineos and Magnus S, way to start a career at 19.

(Just watched on catch up. Off to women's race now, no spoilers perlease)

I think the change to the calender this year isn't all bad ... It's going to be harder to get some one winning the triple ...fleche amstrel ..liege ... Also the outcomes in general seem a bit less pre ordained

Nope, he's lead DS for Trinity Racing.
Have I made up that he was a DS for them?

These Ineos youngsters seem quite a tight unit.

Luke Rowe said as much on the latest Watts Occurring.
I enjoy Luke and G chatting on the podcast. Informative having 2 pros interacting. But those 2 Grenadiers are a decade plus older than the front 3 group today. Times change, people get older.

I think so. I mean it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he joined them, but that hasn't happened yet.

Ineos have been seriously good in the classics this season, they've animated the races, got numbers at the pointy end and have deserved their results.

In other news, Remco hates cobbles - he didn't have the skills to get in the gutter on the one cobbled climb and got dropped on it twice. He also said so himself after the race that he can't imagine riding Flanders. So much for the new Merckx...

Remco has a good engine - and that's about it; tactically all over the place, and technically, well not great. Which isn't really a surprise as he's come from football; and doesn't have a grounding in the sport; I wonder why they don't give him some skills/ CX training in the winter?

    Maybe.
WVA is riding LBL and he’ll need to be in better shape than he was in Pais Vasco.

Marta Cavalli times it to win in the last 50m from AvV, then Vollering in 3rd.
Also won Amstel, on for the treble.

So AVV went early on the climb and didn't make it. Like everyone who goes early always.

Good race from what I saw - I like the Cherave coming close to the finish to make it more selective before the finish climb.
