    What happened?

Front group down to 8 with an mvdp burst on a climb, Kung attacked but got nowhere, Campanaerts attacked over the top and downhill with his 58 chainring, brought back when Pidcock kind of attacked, Benoot attacked with 2km(?) to go, mvdp went across to him and they had a gap that nobody was bridging. Mvdp opened up the two man sprint from the front and it was won.
    Nice thanks!

Good to have a race where the last hour or so is a good watch, riders committing to big attacks that seem like they are stretching the elastic to breaking point but they’re brought back then another attack goes.
Love seeing Campenaerts giving his all too.

    https://www.cyclingweekly.com/racing/ever-grit-your-teeth-so-hard-that-one-of-them-actually-breaks-thats-what-victor-campenaerts-did-at-dwars-door-vlaanderen

Just hope that RVV is similarly exciting.

I can't imagine he'd miss the team reckon ride for mind games. But it also crossed my mind

van Aert won Omloop.. you know that means he's doomed for the big two, generational talent or otherwise. As far as quality of racing goes that was excellent, glad to see Van Der Poel back to it

It looks like Scheledprijs just got a lot more interesting......

That's a whole lot of crosswind along the exposed sections of the course.

QS and Lotto having to chase. Gap looks to be about 40 seconds, but that's just a by eye guess.

Merlier, Philipsen, Kristoff, Bennett, Van Poppel Meeus in the front group.

Kirby having a panic attack watching a crash that happened some time ago....

I'm not sure the televised part of that race could have been much less interesting. Glad I just had it on in the background.

    Fair play to kristoff.

    2017 Greg VA:
    1st Omloop
    1st E3
    1st GW
    2nd RVV
    1st PR

'Curse' only applies to RVV.... (and only just as per above)

Alpecin’s ploy of putting Philipsen and Merlier in same race once again worked as well as it did in the Tour.

Merlier's seasons looks to be going backwards.....

Maybe there'll be a barrier for it to jump over.
