WVA forcing others to close gaps, it's getting a bit messy.0

Tactical conundrum for Jumbo. 4 in the front group, next biggest have only 2, group of what, 15 in total at the front? at 52km to go.0

I know but he was 8th on Wednesday and while DePanne isn’t E3 it’s over 200kmsrick_chasey said:

He’s sitting at the back and contrary to what commentary team thinks, he’s conning them.

I really don't get why no-one was on WVA's ar$e going onto the Paterburg. Letting an inexperienced rider have his wheel was just dumb.0

Asgreen couldn’t hold the wheel so I would guess nobody in the group could.

If these 2 get to the finish together, do they properly fight it out? you'd hope so if they are well clear.0

Assuming the Jumbo DS says "fight it out lads" rather than "Wout wins, Laporte you finish 2nd" " can anyone see Laporte winning the sprint?0
-
Unlikely to happen, but hilarious if Benoot mugged the chasers.0

It’s worth remembering that Laporte is also a sprinter but it’s not going to happen.JimD666 said:Assuming the Jumbo DS says "fight it out lads" rather than "Wout wins, Laporte you finish 2nd" " can anyone see Laporte winning the sprint?
Today it’s Paris-Nice payback day.
While it was great to witness, it’s meant a whole lot of nothing since the Oude.

If WVA punctured now, Laporte would probably stop and give him his wheel.rick_chasey said:Belgian commentators "does Laporte have any chance to win this?"

Need all the big boys together at the next few races as there have already been a lot of processions between WVA and Pogocar at various races0

So, onto Sunday and a step up in distance to proper classics length. Although 4 kms shorter than last year and minus the last section of plugstraat, the 2022 edition of Gent-Wevelgem still measures just a km shy of 250, with the final 34 kilometres played out on straight and exposed roads.

Pidcock a late addition to GW“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0
-
Pidcock is only included in G-W because, as the forum expert told us recently “probably he is contracted to race certain races and if he declares himself fit the team will get financially penalised for pulling him out so it was probably worth chucking him in knowing that he wouldn't have won if he was fit anyway and saving the cash”tailwindhome said:Pidcock a late addition to GW

for context, Mr Van De Walle (pictured) is the guy who got the Paterberg cobbled and persuaded the race to go up it.rick_chasey said:1 -
It's crazy amazing that you can actually see the pros from so close, in such a way. There's always a few idiots who ruin this for all, so let's pray that people use common sense so we can keep seeing pros fly past us while we cheer them in the flat, up hill, or near the end.rick_chasey said:

It must be a bit disappointing for WVA that the only person in Belgium who does not seem to be a fan is his son. Every time the son is shown at the start or finish with his dad he basically ignores him.
Crazy to see the size and amount of the hospitality tents at E3, some obviously being set up for Flanders as well.0 -
Can't blame the kid for liking MvdP 😜PTP Champion 2019, 2022 & 20231
