One thing for sure is that next year, £59-99 for a year won't even be the 50% off price.

For this reason alone I am considering cancelling my Eurosport to get the 1/2 price renewal offer and stringing that along as far as possible. Next year's prices may be prohibitive.
    ...and done.
£19.99 till the then of March 2023 is not too bad. 😎
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

£19-99? How did you manage that? It's a tenner less than the current offer on Discovery.

See above - same for me. £19.99 until June 2023. Just went to cancel Eurosport on the phone app, and it immediately offered me 50% off the Eurosport price. Not interested in anything else Discovery has (and probably already have it on the TV package anyway).

Extended until end June 23 at £19.99 p.a..

Yup. Log into your Player account and cancel renewal from there.

    OK.
I did it on the web, so I will reactivate and then cancel again via the app on the Fire Stick. ;)

  • Thanks for heads up :)

Probably because I had switched auto renew back on a couple of weeks ago.

Oh well, such is life. That £20 would have paid for 10 minutes of my new energy bills…

What’s the coverage like on ES Player? I’ve not been that impressed with GCN+ so I think I’ll cancel it.

Presumably you get the full races like on GCN+ but none of the documentaries etc?

That's my guesstimate summary having used ES but not GCN.

Pretty much nailed it on the head. We do use both. Wife pays for one, I pay for the other. GCN is likely to be they way ahead for us if the BT Sport/Discovery+ tie-in goes ahead.

Personally I find GCN a little easier to navigate but it fairly minor differences.

I thought gcn+ had more coverage plus docs (minus other sport and now the rest of the discovery 5h1te). Some of the docs are ok if you’re bored but nothing I would pay for.
At one stage Gcn had Ad free coverage not available on Es, but I think you can get that on Es too now?

Yes, it is available on ES.

    Thanks :)
Just cancelled and then renewed at 19.99. I've been happy enough with just ES so at that price I'm chuffed.

I get ES on Sky & only did GCN+ last year as I was curious & it was only £19.99.

Not sure if ES Player would be worth my while or not.

The coverage in GCN+ IMO isn’t great. I watched the rerun of the CX Worlds that had commentary cutting in & out which then disappeared for pretty much the whole race.

It was amateurish to say the least.

Unless you like adverts for funerals and dog charities, £20 is a small price to pay for a full year.

The Player gives you ad-free and the choice of audio feeds, which is better than the channel. Worth the £20 (if you can get that price). It does not give you the GCN documentaries. Your choice.

True but when I already pay for ES on Sky I feel like I’m paying twice for pretty much the same thing if that makes sense.

The coverage on GCN and ES player is identical. All the audio issues you reference were on both. One sided conversations and poor volume levels for interviews are common.

    Still better than adverts.

I get it in my TV package as well, and consider £20 for the eurosport player to be well worth it. Honestly, worth it alone for not seeing another advert for Baku.

    Plus the catchup service.

The catch up service is excellent. All providers should aim for that level of service.

    yup.

And you get asked if you want to watch live coverage from live or from the start, and can rewind live coverage.

Basically your paying the extra tenner for the documentaries etc on GCN+ which I can do without.
