I was with Neil. I have a great video of you dancing in your tutu 🤣alan_a said:Great wee video of the party atmosphere on KOM1 Cairn o Mount yesterday.
All the riders were smiling or giggling.
Kudos to Jake Scott for his deft elbow and head twitches to get us to move over.

Thought it was very good and covered the length, if not the breadth, of Britain. Given it is only 8 stages I think they did a good job, the stages were tough enough on the whole to allow the peloton to get broken up if the big teams wanted it and there was a good mix of finishes. I would have dropped the TTT though and tried to get a tough road race stage instead.First.Aspect said:Other than the fact it didn't pass through Milton Keynes or go up the mighty Box Hill (which someone on here was whinging about) what did people think of the course?
Thought it was great to see some of the far flung parts of the island. Instead of Box Hill and the Mall, for once...0 -
Pedant alert. Not a moan, just pointing out that....
Not the full length. There are 221 miles between Aberdeen and John O'Groats. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
BBC News - Schoolboy cyclist outpaces pros on Tour of Britain

I mean, it's not completely untrue as a headline0 -
The kid was on stage for part of the final stage presentations yesterday in Aberdeen.
Def future pro contract there 😊0 -
I commute up that rise he was pelting along. He was going at a very good speed.orraloon said:The kid was on stage for part of the final stage presentations yesterday in Aberdeen.

I agree. Both are rubbish climbs adopted by cycling newbies.bobmcstuff said:
To be fair Box Hill is Britain's answer to Alpe d'Huez, or so I've heard.First.Aspect said:Other than the fact it didn't pass through Milton Keynes or go up the mighty Box Hill (which someone on here was whinging about) what did people think of the course?

Famous in the local paper 😂😂😂😭😭😭
I wonder if they will go all Janey Godley on me when they discover who was responsible for this

It's hardly the wilderness. Very easy to get to for us locals.big.bream83SGjmJv said:I was a bit worried that very few would turn out in the wilderness

Yeah I was going to say, COM is what, 30 mins from Aberdeen to drive? Closer from Stonehaven etc.0

Ok my mistake. I do a lot of running in the Glentress (Peebles) area and it always seems like it's in the wilderness. Perhaps not then, my mistake.0

If your ears can stand it, here's the mix I was playing at top of COM
https://www.mixcloud.com/alan-anderson5/cairn-o-mount-peloton-chooooons/
Everything on the Rechts from Dundee's Average White Band to Kirriemuir's AC/DC, then on the Links from Stornoway's Peat & Diesel to Paisley's Paolo Natini.
All with a big cheesy chunk of Dutch and Belgian Karnival Techno for good measure.

Afraid not. Don't do spotify as my dj mixer controller doesn't talk with it.ddraver said:Ha ha, outstanding.
Do you have a spotify playlist so I can listen to it out running? I feel a new PB coming on! :P
The mixcloud app lets you listen on your phone and download stuff

Yer, I tried to download it but such things are no longer considered important.
Unfortunately putting up phone masts in Cornwall is also not considered important

Cheers Alan. Hopefully up the Cairn again next year. Route not confirmed yet, but definitely starting in Aberdeen and ending in the shire somewhere....alan_a said:If your ears can stand it, here's the mix I was playing at top of COM

Loop round to Crathes, on to Stonehaven and finish at the top of the Cairn?
Probably a logistical nightmare, but potentially a very nice route.
Or, straight inland to Tomintoul etc.The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Was thinking the same, perhaps a mtf up at the Lecht. Plenty of space up there with a pretty decent last climbpblakeney said:Loop round to Crathes, on to Stonehaven and finish at the top of the Cairn?

If your house is in Nottinghamshire, the Tour might come past you next year0

Someone will probably try to argue that is effectively Scotland or Wales.takethehighroad said:If your house is in Nottinghamshire, the Tour might come past you next year

No chance - because nobody knows where Nottinghamshire is.Pross said:

Nottinghamshire is an overnight horse ride from the south coast according to Kevin Costner.0

Just looked out of curiosity. Dover to Nottingham 213 miles.norrinradd said:Nottinghamshire is an overnight horse ride from the south coast according to Kevin Costner.
That's just over 14 hours at 15mph. Not much more than the Mallorca 312. Doable. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
