Looked like a wave of braking passing back through the peloton and catching someone out who wasn't paying attention

Not sure what happened, but here's Mollema on the left starting to ride away, then realising that he has Pedersen's bike attached to him.

Colbrelli takes it from.matthews . Cav does not bother contesting

I.like cav and all but full green is awful

It looks a different shade of green to usual as well.

Think Cav opted to keep his powder dry there rather than trying to pinch a few points in a sprint that doesn't suit him.

Not really. Took it up early, drawing out Colbrelli for someone else to counter him, although nobody did. It did at least make it a longer and harder sprint for him - if you can't beat someone, at least make sure you take something out of them for later.

There were some follow on attacks, Naessen?

After the intermediate sprint the gap to the break has dropped 2 minutes. Gives an idea of what went on to try and shift Cavendish (and then push on after)

Tag along - should have Chaves sat on it.

Nothing happening and I haven't had a siesta.
I know what this race needs.

Run in is exposed on roads of this width or narrower over the uncategorised climb ... Ridge line ... Would be dangerous with wind ..shame

It really is. It appears to be an issue when wearing a skin suit. He wasn't in full green in the mountains.
Give the guy a break. He'll never wear it again and wants to make the most of it.

Alaphilippe in rainbows fetching bottles for the team. Wonder if we'll see the same communal freak out as when Cav did that in 2012?

Who was the tool who used to come on here and call Cavendish "Cavendishi"?

Looking out the window towards Valence I might have a wet and windy ride home from work.

You'd have thought there was enough in pro-cycling to talk about that without having to go into such dry tangential issues which also serve to make you feel guilty
