13 years between first and latest stage wins. Unprecedented in modern times. Who would have thought after he left Gent-Wevelgem in tears last year.

DQS taking this up too early?

They did, but only JA. The last two dropped back and let FDJ burn themselves out.

Sensational, and couldn't have been a better finish, nice clean sprint.
    So happy for him

    Look at that.

The release of 5 years of emotion. So so pleased for him.

I think the sprint teams were waiting for the wider road before starting the chase or just couldn't get organised on the narrower road. It certainly meant they got stretched to the limit. DQS either bluffing or just not very good at that train but JA did a good job for them.

    Andy Murray, Mark Cavendish.

Any chance they can stick Geoff Hurst in the team for tonight?

There was nothing lucky or accidental about that...

    MY MAN!

You see I stopped watching and cut the sound. I'm superstitious like that.

Love it when he has a wee cry.

So so so happy for him.

Any other day I'd have been desperate for the lone rider to hold on but really pleased for Cav to get it today (especially for my PTP chances).

So today it was Philipsen who got dropped off with 200m to go, and Cavendish came past in the last 100m. Bouhanni did similar, but just a bit late.

Is it too early to start working out how many more sprint stages he might have a chance in?

I knew he was going to cry but I still wasn't prepared for it 😭

He was so much faster and he had to start his sprint twice.
He had to decelerate and then go again.
