I will take that as my daily learnrjsterry said:Bad example. The earth has been known to be spherical since ~350BC. Newton worked out that it was actually an elliptoid. Flat earthism is a 19th century invention that questioned that orthodoxy.

Yup. And when you realise that certain social media companies are starting to clamp down on these dangerous lies, it's interesting the GB 'News' is happy to spread them.0 -
I especially enjoy the archaeologist complaining about the hubris of virologists who claim to understand the virus while explaining to us all how things REALLY are.0

As GB News heads toward the Fox News model (which is classed as an entertainment channel in the US so that it doesn't have to follow actual news channel regulations there), is GB News classed as 'news', and, if so, does it have to abide by any regulations re 'balance' or 'not spreading dangerous conspiracy theories'?0

Well, it would seem, yes.
https://www.theguardian.com/media/2020/dec/08/uk-radio-station-censured-over-covid-conspiracy-theoriesA community radio station which broadcast a two-hour discussion of baseless coronavirus conspiracy theories, including the claim that the crisis is an orchestrated “plan-demic” linked to the rollout of 5G, has been sanctioned by the broadcasting regulator.
In a report on New Style Radio, a Birmingham-based station which caters to African-Caribbean communities, Ofcom found that a programme presented by Simon Solomon, “had the potential to cause significant harm to listeners” and set out “a number of highly contentious, unevidenced conspiracy theories about the coronavirus, without sufficient challenge or context”.
Among many other false claims made during The Family Programme on 1 November, the watchdog, which was responding to a listener’s complaint, highlighted suggestions that wearing facemasks can “cause serious neurological and respiratory damage”, that children were being put at risk, and that Bill Gates and Boris Johnson wanted to reduce the world population.0 -
It's good that the oppressed minority are getting the voice denied them by the MSM or something like that.rjsterry said:

You might not like what they say but they're definitely a real news channel otherwise why would the Greatest Journalist of His Generation, Andrew Neil, be working there. Oh wait a minute......0 -
This made me laugh:
"Nothing is off limits" and the first issue they think is important to get the views of the ex President is.... Meghan and Harry.0 -
A comedian could base a really good parody sketch on him presenting innocuous news stories as conspiracies.briantrumpet said:GB News hosting the next David Icke:

Yes I spotted a lot of "nudge unit" chat BTL on various stuff the last few weeks. Seems to have caught the conspiratorial zeitgeist.
Happens to be a book I have actually read: Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth and Happiness. Over a decade old now.

The Telegraph veering further to the right? Well, it's featuring GB News, Farage, and Trump uncritically...

Yes, it's all kicked off. One can only assume AN has a lot of free time because before he was picking a fight with Arcuri he was picking a fight with all the usual anti-lockdown suspects.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

Another move to disprove the theory that they are a lightweight right wing outlet.0 -
This is perfection. Every single phrase is mental.0 -
So it seems today's GB news rather resembles Russia Today, with a host of presenters suggesting it's NATO's fault Ukraine is being invaded. Lovely.0

Who knew that GB news and Corbyn shared having an absolutely stupid foreign policy outlook on Russia.rick_chasey said:So it seems today's GB news rather resembles Russia Today, with a host of presenters suggesting it's NATO's fault Ukraine is being invaded. Lovely.

Is a certain correlation with Brexityness and pro-Russia views, if you look at Farage, Banks etcJezyboy said:

I will keep arguing that Brexit is just a part of their anti-EU agenda and as that is all consuming they are happy to enthusuastically embrace their enemy's enemy as their friendrick_chasey said:
