    @RichN95.
You're normally all over the betting

Odds on Cav winning a stage?

I don't think they'll do those sort of bets until they know who's riding.

OK so how do you beat Pog?

His weakness is his team, right?

I think there's also a slight weakness on the steeper climbs. I'm not sure there's many in this Tour though.
    High altitude climbs too
I may be getting the two confused to be fair
I think it may be more that he wasn't really tested over big mountains last year. Him and Roglic seem to ride in a similar way, it would have been interesting to see how he coped over big mountains against someone like Froome, Bertie or even Schleck in their prime (maybe even a completely injury free Bernal riding like he did in those early Giro mountain stages). He may well be fine but it's slightly untested so far. From memory he gained time on one climb by going fairly early but that was after he'd lost time in the crosswinds

He could be the first rider since Andy Schleck to win LBL and the Tour in the same year

Didn’t Schleck win LBL the year before he won the Tour?

Do you think Israel Start Up are going to ride without an Israeli? I don’t.

And I don’t see what you are going to do with Greipel, Zabel and Hofstetter. One C list sprinter is enough top get 8th place in a sprint.

I can see the logic in taking Ben Hermans. He would certainly be in my squad, but Goldstein?
His only qualification to ride the Tour is the fact he's Israeli.
It's certainly not his stage racing record. It's quite an achievement when he breaks into the top 50 of a chipper stage race.

As predicted, ISN name Omer Goldstein in their team.

I think they've overestimated the interest in the team by naming one rider per day. They've already named the one people were actually interested in.

    Yeah.
I posted it in the Viking's are Coming thread, earlier.

Have ITV 4 come up with anything yet, or they still reliving those empty clay court matches, like Eurosport?

Could have been training hard this week, with the goal of tapering from here on in. I'd not read too much into it just yet.

According to the TV show Loki, there may be another contender. Have the UCI banned gods yet, or just long socks?

Not a flatland monster, basically, so not expected to win.

Beaten them both in short TTs this season already.

He was in the final TT of last year's tour. It's surprising to see him beaten by those 2, despite the suspicions around Bahrain.

The main reason for Pogacar's performance in the final TT of last year's Tour is his recovery ability and his relative lack of tiredness at the end of the final week rather than any Ganna-esque TT ability.

I'll predict now that he will go very much better in the second TT at this year's race than the first.

Rohan Dennis surprisingly omitted from the Ineos Tour line-up:

    Carapaz
    Castroviejio
    TGH
    Kwiatkowski
    Porte
    Rowe
    Thomas
    Van Baarle

Seems lightweight in terms of having power. Must be hoping for a lack of cross wind days.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Rowe, Van Baarle and Thomas all had good classic results and able to force things in crosswinds

    And Kwiatkowski loves them.

Castroviejo is a bit of a surprise having done the Giro. I thought Amador might get the nod.

I doubt they'd want to burn Thomas out. Kwiatowski might be a good shout, it was just an uninformed impression. 😉

Castro did ride both last year, after being a DNS on Stage 19 of the tour so does have previous I suppose.

    Sounds about right to me:

    GEOGHEGAN HART Tao
    KWIATKOWSKI Michal
    PORTE Richie
    ROWE Luke
    THOMAS Geraint
    Reserve.
    DE PLUS Laurens

Thought Van Baarle would be in there. He's did a good job in 2019 and looked OK last year but lost his leader and role early.
OK, so here's the obvious hypothetical: who would you leave out to put Van Baarle in?
Dennis? Though I'll freely admit I've not watched the races he's supposed to have been good in.

    Broken clocks and all that.

Presumably his form at Tour de Suisse wasn't considered good enough (or his form there reflected a falling out with Ineos).

A surprise selection by Bahrain with the omission of Padun, but good news for British fans as Fred Wright gets picked.
