Ineos chasing a "proper" monument win.
Dominant performance so far but little doubt the big 3 will have troops chasing Carapaz.

Vansevenant climbs like someone doing a parody of Bertie...

Carapaz being pulled back by an epic ride by Knox. UAE take it up to kill it

Ineos do rather appear to have self destructed. Roglic and Fuglesang struggling.

Strong 5 clear. Valverde, Woods, Pogacar, Gaudu and JA. Roglic has missed out.

Group of 5 get away and have a biiig gap. No Grenadiers amongst them 😏

Woods, Pog, Valverde (?) Godau and...?

All change at the front and Roglic found wanting.
    Can’t fault this edition

Grenadier Yates pulling the chasers, but not in a convincing manner.

Headwind on the run in though...

Front group maybe having second thoughts

Front 5 not working well, my pick for the day Woods going alone but pulled back. Roglic and Kwia chasing hard behind.

Roglic gets on the front and knocks 10s off the gap!

Woods and JA doing most of the work. The others content to Wheelsuck

Pogacer grabbed his side just as the camera cut away there...??

Chase not looking organised. Gap going back out

Pog back on the front so is obviously fine

Not enough riders prepared to help Roglic out. Chasers splitting a bit though and could do it if they drop the dead wood.

Over 30" now. This is over unless the front 5 really start messing about.

It’s a shame Pidcock didn’t ride. If he’d made this front group, we’d have 3 generations of Valverde-like riders...

Chasers doing just enough to keep the kopgruppe honest.

I don't think they re coming back though.

Did a bidon just fall out of one of the chasers there? He definitely didn't throw it...

The speed JA and Pogacar still had in their legs was noticeably higher than the others. Thought my slightly different pick for Woods was going to get me some PTP points there. After that show of force Ineos with no-one in the top 10.

Methinks Julian may give LBL a miss next year.

    It's a honest group sprint .

Pog looking like he just had a bit of a sprint for the sign after a light 45 min ride to the cafe...

22 years old and already a Tour de France and a monument. Not bad.

I was impressed by Gaudu today.
Thought he would be 5th of the five, but showed decent pace in the end.

A word for Davide Formolo, who had been invisible this year, but played a crucial roll in reeling in the Ineos train.
