    My thinking too.
Held off until now, but it's definitely beer o'clock.
Supplies were from a Belgian charcuterie, run by a cycling fan from Liege. Authenticity a premium

La Chouffe and Rochefort are the local beers he says
I am having to make do with Jamón Serrano, Leffe and Duvel, as silly me drank all my Rochefort with the Ronde.

Things starting to get a little frisky as the "old guard" are making moves.

Duvel is a top notch beer for "making do" Standards are high!

Quick Step have a stranglehold on the race.
They are stamping out any moves just as soon as anybody goes

It's been EIGHT years since Dan Martin won this race.

    Panda power.

Three have got away from the peloton by 2 mins. Padun, Donovan, Vanhoucke.

    I don't fancy their chances

Who knows? Maybe they may actually race La Redoute this year.
Possible, seeing there are teams trying to break the race up.

I think it's likely the second string will try.

TGH destroying the peloton. Ineos with 4 riders including 3 GT winners, quite impressive

Edit - 2 GT winners, getting carried away

Felt like the third or fourth Ineos rider should have left a gap go to force the others to chase

Drinking La Chouffe in Houfallize in the sun is a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

Been out in the sun down here and I think I've managed to burn a little bit! Summer is coming!

Yeh, 1-2 of them gone up the road to make the others chase.
At one point it looked like all they were doing was burning themselves out while towing most of the favourites. Achieved nothing much now the group has got back to size.

Nothing 'tactical' about this attack from Carapaz. Full on!

Think Ineos got it right there. Forced a selection, didn't drive it further (would have been a free ride for everyone else), then blew it up after the reconnect with a pair of attacks
