Irrelevant now that WVA back with the fodder.

So, Sep Vanmarcke to launch a late attack, bridge and win the sprint. :p:D

I think Asgreen might be happy with second-behind-Van der Poel...

I wonder how many of the chasers who are too tired to do their share of the turns will suddenly find the strength to go flat out in the sprint for third.

Is that 2 DQs there for the front 2

Asgreen takes the sprint. Who would have predicted that? GVA takes third.

Asgreen played that perfectly. MvdP a bit over-confident in taking the turn 1.4k out.

If I'm the boss of AG2R I'm going to the commissaires and asking why Asgreen and VDP throwing away their bidons was any different to Schar.

There was a big "no littering from here" sign at 1.9km to go. So I assumed it was ok up till then.

Well I did not expect that. Fair play though.

I do wonder if WvA and VDP will start to look at themselves now. Their talent and way they can ride a bike is unbelievable but their tactics are not. It seems they do far too much work and in the classics you pay for it.

For example why the hell did WvA attack that group after he’d been dropped, the win is gone. Just sit on the back, rest and try for 3rd. All these silly little moves just cost energy and we’ve seen it often now that when the big move comes he can’t follow. Maybe it will come with age but someone needs to sit him down and have a word.

Other teams seem to have figured out MVP and WvA and can ride accordingly. Just a pity we don’t have Roubaix now.
