Nokere Koerse on GCN+ currently - looks a bit cold / muddy. Great stuff.

Not too thrilled with the comms duo - what has happened to Declan Quigley? He was great on these smaller mid-week Belgian madness jobs.

Cav was looking ok in the main pack, about 20 sec behind the remains of the break, just decked it on cobbles with 6k to go. Looks to be ok.
Who was the second DQS rider that went shortly after? Looked a bit more pained.

Jannik Steimle. Fractured collarbone according to Jose Been on Twitter.

^thanks. Was a bit worried it was cav again and he was going to be out again. I would like to see him enjoy a season, even if he doesn’t get to the pointy end of a race.

    No consolation for Steimle tho.

He's already been at the pointy end, finished second last race, and looked good in his races so far.

Can someone kindly get a neck brace for Ludovic Robeet?

Great win for him, but he looks utterly ridiculous with the head shaking. But don't want to bag on him too much. Hope he gets to savour a really nice win!

Is someone going to make a proper MSR spoiler thread? I won't be able to do the preview justice

I saw it will be a tailwind all the way...

Which will further diminish the significance of Cipressa and the Poggio.
    Sprint finish?

Time they changed the route. Maybe it's me but although it's one of the monuments, I always find MSR dull.
Just slightly less dull than Scheldeprijs.

    He?

The leader (well that’s what I read).

She’s improving and clears the very low bar set by CK. I find Backsted’s delivery a bit downbeat though.
Yes they are not a good combo - neither is a lead commentator.

Backstead used to be a good support to Quigley for these races, he's got all the inside knowledge on the roads etc, and his 'measured' delivery was balanced by DQs pacier prose.

I really don't get what they think JB is bringing here.

agreed - parts of it look very nice and if the sun's out it's a reminder of the (hopefully) better weather heading our (UK) way soon.
Not a lot of racing to watch until the last 50K though.

It's definitely a race where you only have to tune in near the end.

No, but it's not a cobbled classic either and there wasn't another obvious thread for MSR speculation...

I suspect so, but there's better options out there at actually doing the job if that's the case - Eurosport / GCN already use one or two on their women's & track coverage.

Been just said that after a few cold days ahead, Spring is turning up next week.
Typical. Just as the races arrive the weather turns balmy.

Ineos name a really weak team for Catalunya:

    Richard Carapaz
    Jonathan Castroviejo
    Rohan Dennis
    Richie Porte
    Geraint Thomas
    Luke Rowe
    Adam Yates

Just watched on the catch up. That's my long time twice per year visit part of Belgium, Veurne, Koksidje, Poperinge, Heuvelland. Jings, miss it. Got one window of opportunity trip in last July between the waves and we are booked for October this year. Chances? Who knows. Strange days.

Pöstlberger can't do a mini MvdP, bless 'im.

Surprised Pedersen isn't going to MSR.

He likes it long, hard and cold but he doesn't have the punch for the Poggio. He'd do well in a sprint, but we haven't had one for years now.

    Forza Elisa!

    Trek clean sweep the weekend

Classy win from ELB. Attacked on the penultimate lap of the climb and built a gap over some big names over the last ~25 km

Watched that this morning. Postlberger certainly gave it everything, he came in a couple of minutes down after getting caught 1200m from the line. Looked certain to be caught 10-15k out then managed to open his lead back to 20".
