Excellent ride by Pogacar, looked strong, determined and consistent all the way. Great stuff!
Roglic was panicking already from the bottom of the climb, thus so much out the saddle and changing gears (not to mention wearing his helmet likea beginner).0 -
"I don't actually follow a football team, I just cheer obsessively and manically for players wearing my favourite brand of boots."
It's a bloody odd way of watching sport, but I guess it takes all sorts.4 -
Much as I wanted Pog to win that you have to feel sorry for Roglic. That may well have been his best only chance with the youngsters coming through. He must be regretting being so passive in the mountains assuming he wasn't bluffing and had more to give.1

Classy by Roglic0

I did a 40 mile ride on quite a bad hangover, got in and stuck the TV on, not eaten yet - could not take that stress on that fragility.
Pogacar said he couldn't hear the radio on the way up. Must be amazing to find out like that.
Roglic gave him a handshake during the interview, good on him as I'd have been pretty inconsolable I think!1 -

Pog's post-stage interview was very very sweet.
Bless his TT socks.
I might even forgive him for stealing the KOM from Carapaz.Correlation is not causation.0 -
Classy from Roglic to congratulate Pog there. Must be feeling like sh!t.1
-
Sounds like UAE had scoped this TT really well0

That was proper sportsmanship. Very nice touch that.bobmcstuff said:I did a 40 mile ride on quite a bad hangover, got in and stuck the TV on, not eaten yet - could not take that stress on that fragility.

There will be one hell of a post mortem at J.V. after that. However that was a great spectacle.0

...or that JV had paced it badly, given how close they all were...mididoctors said:21!!!!!
Dunno if that's even a thing...We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

I thought David Icke Turquoise was a lucky colour!0 -
Roglic is a class act, he had a bad day at a bad time. However, it’s nice to see the spirit of the game shown there at the end. Chapeau to the pair of them.smithy21 said:Classy from Roglic to congratulate Pog there. Must be feeling like sh!t.

Pogacar will be doing more climbing on the podium than he did on the bike. 4 ascents is going to take it out of tired legs.0
-
Just look at the difference between their faces and body language coming to the line.
You can see Pog didn't know since he even did a bike throw for the line.
Rog looked like he was close to tears.0 -
Roglic had a off day too . In hindsight pogacar was weaker at the end of long hard stages . When he was fresh he was super fast .ddraver said:

Won the stage by the same time he lost on the crosswinds stage..... Per ITV anyway.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0
