Not sure how unpopular but I still maintain they should remove the distance limit on GTs and make a good third to half of all stages over 250km, including a bunch of mountain stages.

And not bother with those ridiculous short stages. I think there should be a minimum stage length.

I don't mind a short stage, but only if there are still long stages too. Short explosive stages after long stages seems to produce interesting results. But I agree if the whole race was short stages, that would be dumb.

    I agree with Rick's suggestion...

Matching shorts and bikes with leader's jerseys is a really good look, especially the Tour polka dots.

    That's beyond trolling

Cycling is a team sport. The team competition is therefore the most important competition at any Grand Tour.

You are Eusebio Unzue and I claim my five pounds.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

I thought this was ridiculous, but actually there's only two that might be better. There's a lot of pretty bad kits out there this year.

Interesting. Which do you consider to be better?

Drives me nuts the Samsic jersey looks almost identical to the ineos jersey from the heli.
  • Drives me nuts Nairo Quintana's jersey looks almost identical to the ineos jersey from the heli.

    Fixed that for you.

  • I think Froome will be riding the Tour, but purely as a domestique.
I believe his real goal is to go for another Vuelta title.
I also think that despite it being the most mountainous tour in decades, it will also turn out to be the most boring.

Here's an idea. He rides into form to do the Third Week Wout role, and then just keeps on going into a soft Giro, maybe via a suitable Worlds.

I'll come up with another left field prediction. No-one from Ineos or Jumbo will win the Tour. Only one will be on the podium. This is not really the right thread for this.

You are right, it is an idea.
I think it's the one Jumbo have in mind for Dumoulin, minus the soft bit.

The best Tour stages in recent years have been flat 'sprinters' stages where there has been a cross wind and the organisers should have fewer mountain stages to concentrate on riding around the coastal areas.
