At a rough guess it was about 50/50 on the train and tube this morning.

What's the source of this twh? Assume that's a population average and doesn't reflect different age groups - which would be interesting to see.

It also says that the IFR is for seasonal flu as calculated for New Zealand in BMU.
Good news but not necessarily relatable to the UK.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I picked that graph up from the tweet below.

There's some more in the thread if you click through.

Okay, so on the one hand shows great progress, on the other hand doesn't take R into account, nor that Covid does not seem to be seasonal.

Interested to know whether NZ data on flu could be misleading as well. I have no clue.

Alarming how many of the questions ask about non vaccinated people's risk.

You can zoom in. Source is the ONS surveys of infection and death certs. The FT dataviz guy is pretty thorough.

So my boss tested positive in the middle of the day in the office after I was next to him this morning (faint line).

Let’s see if office ventilation and 3 jabs will keep it at bay. I suspect not.

Have had more positives in our team in the last fortnight than the preceding two years. Thankfully all kept at home so far. All reporting feeling a bit rough a day or two before testing positive.

And a sharp little (as yet) upturn in Devon figures, for all age groups. Sufferers feeling quite grotty, and some of them it's dragging on.

Probably to be expected, with mask rules going, and people trying to get back to normal. It's not played out quite yet.

The majority of the people I know who have had it recently are repeat coviders.

My wife and eldest daughter have had it for the last week but me and the youngest are still testing negative.
I'm triple jabbed and had covid in august but the youngest daughter is 5, so no jabs and no previous infections as far we know.

It sounds like their school is awash with it at the moment.

I'm just hoping this means we'll be safe to go abroad at easter as planned.

It's going to come over as hindsight but I would have waited until April to open everything up. Warmer weather, open windows, more outside meetings.

I am waiting and still acting as though it was January.

My wife currently has it - she’s a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, has been working in school throughout Covid and had somehow dodged it until now (as have my 15 and 13 yr old sons). I’ve taken a PCR test earlier today, awaiting the result.

This report is quite interesting for followers of the death olympics. I haven't read it all and I don't know how accurate it is for each country, but it shows that, as expected, Spain and Italy significantly underreported deaths. What's more surprising is so did Germany whose excess deaths are very similar to the UK.

I tested positive on Tuesday, after testing negative on the Monday.

Wife was due to go to work so she did a test Tuesday morning and it was negative, which is why I did one too and got a very very faint line.

Had a terrible night's sleep on Tuesday, but apart from that I've had colds that have been worse.

We've managed to test my 3yo and 16month old, so far the 3yo has been positive (Tuesday and faint line this morning) and the 16month has been negative throughout.

We suspect it's either come from their nursery or a party that the wife went to the weekend previous,

My top testing tip for kids is that you don't need to put it in that far or for that long to get a positive.
