Today's stage was probably killed as a spectacle by JA cracking so early. Pretty clear SK was happy with a podium place.

Bardet keeps the polka dots. Odds at the start of the week on Bardet being the one that saves the day for the French in the tour?

Bit of a damp squib at the very end but a great stage.

Terrified about the future of Bernal vs Froome when on the same team.

Epic ride by JA. Big shame for JA and TP.

Ineos will back whoever has the most chance of winning in 2020.

This is why GT should have attacked - to wrap up all jerseys!

the right guy wore yellow in the end I think but everyone will be debating it forever.

Agree but it’s a shame not to see them race against each other.

I know people are sick of ‘what ifs’ but Froome would have cruised this tour.

    Movistar: Big names, small team.
How do you miss the win, but get second and third? Their only "tactic was to chuck away Soler, instead of have him do a turn closing the gap.

they went in with Quintana for the polka dots double up and missed both.

Well done Nibbles. You're a plonker who rides for Team Torture but that was impressive.

Well in reality he would only have had to beat Kruiswijk to win the Tour so yes.

    Great ride by Nibs

I’d say the Alps overwhelmed the Tour.

Movistar only want the team competition, think they've lost something in translation!

I agree with you, this year he'd have been dominant and Bernal would have taken the Vuelta.

Hehe... it’s amazing the effect it has when your boss asks how the family are and would you like to see them after the race: at all?

say what you like about Movistar they made that tour a hell of a spectacle to watch.... you can detonate Ineos early in a stage if you want too, they are not supermen...just highly paid.

Amazing tour. I'm not going to let the last couple of disrupted stages dampen that for me. In any other edition they would have been considered perfectly decently exciting stages, especially towards the very end of a tough race. All considered the fact we still had any competitive racing in the last few days is remarkable. Result was about right all considered too I think, despite the what ifs.

An Ineos 1 2 is obvs. the ideal outcome for the team but surely being the reigning champ should give you team priority unless you're clearly not up to placing in a top GC position.

That's how it always used to work wasn't it?
