yeah not having mas on the final climb was a real problem. he sounds like a man who sees the end coming

I think the guys at 1:30-2:30 ish will be cautiously starting to look at each other more than Alaphilippe. After today it's difficult to see him not being isolated from final selections in the Alps and losing minutes.

Fairplay to Movistar... they came surprisingly close to pulling that insane stage victory off.

    bonkers

thinking about it I kinda see what they tried to do there.

Quintanas role intended or not was to speed up and slow down the middle group/break...basically a speed controller

He has been brilliant so far akin to many other races where he lifts the racing with his enthusiasm.

Today was like a very solid jab in Ala’s face.........the uppercut will come in the Alps

G looks in good shape. Def expect Ineos will be glad of the rest day so they can gather their thoughts and plan for the next few days.

Turbot Pinot, looking ever more tasty. Let's hope he doesn't get fried...

So if we are assuming Alaphillipe will crack we have 5 riders within a minute with 5 proper stages to go. Superb.

Would like to agree but we don't know what is said behind closed doors.

Today's situation in the last couple of km might not look ideal but is it ever that way? Now Ineos keeps 2 players in the game (so when Bernal is next up the road G can sit in) and if he had pushed on sooner Thomas would have only gained a handful more seconds.
Aspire not to have more, but to be more.

Don't know but I'm hoping he got me my yellow jersey back

Edit - apparently not as current leader picked Pinot. Should have helped me with combativity though
