Have you listened to the lyrics at all?

Yeah, he grows wings (with drugs, obviously) and they're the let down ones at the end :)
  • Maybe it's just me, but I think him thinking he's going to grow wings is just a chemical reaction.
  • It's about as uplifting as No Surprises.
  • I love miserable music, the more miserabl one the better, and my all time favourite, am-top-0.5%-of-listeners-on-spotify, is radiohead.

Therefore, the "moody" mood playlist spotify generates for me is right up my street.

Yet they include "let down" by radiohead in the list; surely one of their more uplifting songs?!

Is this, in fact, a miserable and I'm just so immune to it, or is the algo wrong?

Why, why, why? When there is so much upbeat positive stuff...

    Here you go then.

Sure, but that doesn't tally with the tone of the climax of the song, which *is* uplifting. Isn't it?....

The reactor pressure vessel is the first to be built for a British power station for more than 30 years.

At just 13 metres tall and weighing 500 tonnes, it will create the heat needed to make steam for the world's largest turbines.

It is the first of two nuclear reactors to be installed to provide low carbon electricity for three million homes.

God, look at all those cranes!

There’s fewer than there was, I’ve been there numerous times since work on site started and it is seriously impressive.
Cool, I bet that's been interesting work.

It feels ironically upbeat to me. It's a great song.
  • You like miserable songs, because it manages your exceptions, things can only be better?

    Yeah that's a fair reading.

    It is a great song.

Uplifting song/miserable lyrics is a pretty standard pop trope.

Edit - that whole album is wallowing in misery.

    Any closet Chopin fans then?

Pyramid song is sort of the purest version of Radiohead miserableness, if that's your vibe.

Actually written as a result of a $h1t time he was having, good song though.

That's far from the most miserable Smiths song. One of the ones about the moors murders would take the crown, I think.

    What?!
It's along the line of Amon Amarth (Swedish Death Metal in case anyone was wondering) releasing "I should be so lucky"

I only drink on occasion and have never touched a recreational drug. Just drugs for medical reasons, when required. Coffee and tea, mainly.

    And yourself?

    What's the frequency Kenneth.
    Everybody Hurts.
    Losing my Religion.
    Man on the Moon.
    Daysleeper.

I get it if you weren't a fan, but they did some classic songs.
