Huge crash very close to the front.
About 50 riders or so got through the congestion OK.
Most of the sprinters made it, bar Ackermann.

Refreshing to hear Hatch and Brian Smith giving out some proper info and describing the actual race in detail....

Groenewegen takes it comfortably from Gaviria and Viviani.
Nice podium, but it's a lousy race.
Why they have gone for this over the usual stage 1, I cannot fathom.

Brian Smith is getting better and better as a commentator.

    Quite pumped for E3.

Such a shame it's a Friday but usually a well fought race with riders willing to throw caution to the wind and test themselves...

So the sequence of the run in goes, from 50km to go:

Boigneberg, Stationberg, then a gap, then Kapelberg closely followed by Paterberg & Oude Kwaremont all within 6km (at c. 35km out), before the Karnemelkbeek, the varent flat cobbled section and then finally the Tiegemberg at 9km to go.

So that Kapelberg Paterberg, Kwaremont combo is where it's all gonna kick off.

Right. Anyone got a live stream for this one? Slow day at work and keen to watch.

Well it's on live now without commentary on the Eurosport player app/online.

About 95 to go. I am going to watch the last 13k of Catalunya then switch over.

    Jungels isn’t so massive.

Calls time on Classics season to prep for Giro. Won’t defend LBL (so he says).
Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

Echelon alert in Scheleprijs. Peloton in pieces after 20kms. There has been a regrouping, but DQS's main man, Jakobesen is still off the back.
I expect it will all have calmed down by the time there is live coverage, although the wind is forecast to strengthen.

Setting up nicely for DQS as other teams panic into sending their guys forward while Greipel needs his to to bring him back after being distanced.

Soon be time for the Paris-Roubaix boys to bail out the back to avoid the usual crashes.
A pity they decided to stop racing, just as tv coverage started.

The EBH move forced them to the front a bit early but it was never in doubt

Sorry, yes he was, but not in a Northern Classic. Broken collarbone in the Basque Country. :(

A stage earlier than in 2017.

Greg for me is probably the favourite but it’s so hard to call, especially with his bad team.

Really would struggle to do the star rating for this one.

Looking like the most open race for a few years.
