It used to be an unargued point to explain the relative lack of investment in the UK and yes this has been a problem for 50 odd years.Stevo_666 said:

To me this was more valid with the likes of MIRAS or tax breaks for BTL as Govt was distorting the market.0 -

I’m definitely for the government intervening more to make markets more competitive.
If I was in charge I’d definitely use Brexit as a way to beef up the competition committee and give any monopolistic or cartel behaviour a good hard spank.
I’m all for people doing really well off the back of good hard fought competition. That’s important.
But any gaming, rentier behaviour I want stamped out hard.0 -
