Dug this out from way back when.

Maybe it's watching la vuelta a Burgos, maybe it's La Vuelta coming our way soon, couple of weeks time, but tonight's dish was bob on. Chorizo sausage, chopped at the end, in a tomato, chickpea, sweet pepper (home grown), chilli (home grown but last year and dried), lime, coriander, paprika and all the flavour components with some 'new' potatoes. Luvverly.

    Good thread resurrection 'Loon.

    [ @beansnikpoh ]

Last night was home made chicken Kebabs with home made PIta bread - a first. Not too different from Naan and they worked out.
Marinated the chicken in Yoghurt and spices, made garlic sauce and chilli sauce kebab shop style and served with iceberg.
Put the chicken on Bamboo skewers with red onion and red pepper.
    Washed down with beer.

    Marvellous.

Today I had two pieces of disc shaped cardboard inside a bun with cheese, pickle and sauce. Some French fries and a Diet Coke I didn’t order.

2 big samosas, a lot of onion pakoras, chutneys, chicken tikka, lamb kebabs, paneer mattar, aloo baingan, lamb curry, chilli chicken curry, dal makhani, rice, roti.

Heroic eating, even if I say so myself.

Mrs B³ and the dog will be lucky to survive the night...

It has been mainly salads this week but despite the heat, opted for something a little different.

Pork loin chops with a glaze made up of dark Soy sauce, clear honey, ketchup, Cayenne pepper, crushed garlic and seasoning. In the oven at 165 deg c for roughly 25 mins, turning and brushing every 5 mins.
With this was Pilaf rice and a side salad made up of Rocket, cress, spring onion, baby spinach leaves and Iceberg tossed lightly in a dressing made with chives mayo and natural yoghurt (50/50), salt and pepper.

One for the curry heads wanting something spicy in a hurry.
    A dry style thoran curry.
Kale and carrot work well, but other non wilting veg is good.
I add a splash of soy sauce for a salty kick.

3 years, 7 months, 11 days, 3 hours and 26 minutes not that I'm counting.

Gave up eating the 4 legged beasts 20 years ago, but the winged and finned ones suffered for longer. :)

You forget Pinno that our TLW1 is completely reliant on the catering division and was almost found dead in a ditch the last time he was left to his own devices for a day. It was touch-and-go.

    Well remembered.
'Cos if I recall, he can do a Jacket spud but they don't really cover all nutritional requirements.

I think I could give up meat but not fish and I certainly couldn't give up dairy produce.
Everything in moderation I say - I have cut down on red meat consumption hugely and I do make more and more vegetarian meals.

I used to fish quite a lot and loved dairy, but surprisingly don't really crave either. I think over time, your gut bacteria changes and cravings change (gut-brain axis). I agree that an everything in moderation approach is sensible. A vegan diet isn't complete without supplements (B12 mainly), but I do it for maximum positive environmental impact more than anything else.
I actually quite enjoy it. Also, it keeps bmi in check without ever restricting food intake.
It makes the 5 portions of fruit and veg seem a paltry target, too.
