Jeez, ski towns are FUGLY0

I wonder how far Lotto and Sunweb will let Landa get up the road, before they do the usual TDF thing?"Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0

Not watching, but presume they just been through La Mongie? That ski town is really hideous.
Only useful as an indication of the gradient of the climb as you're going through.0 -
Yates dropped from the lead group.
Balls.0 -
The commentary on Eurosport is 97% verbal diarrhoea and 3% Sean Kelly, it would be much more watchable if they left the sound to the be the mics on the motorbikes.0

bardet falters at high altitude again."If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. What we're witnessing here is the world's most high profile mid-life crisis" Afx237vi Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:43 pm0

I climbed to Puy St Vincent Station 1600 yesterday just because form a distance it looks ridiculous, like a Bond Villain's hideout, I wanted to see what it looked like up close. And well, it is butt ugly I can tell you. Like some crazy set of dominos deposited onto the side of the mountain.Correlation is not causation.0 -

what? didn't drop him just proved his worth0 -
Zakarin makes it, Bardet only just.
They have to catch the lead group before the descent or else they are likely doomed..."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

From the photos, it looks like someone grounded a cruise ship up there.0 -
Anyway Romain Bardet cements his French Exchange Student credentials by starring in a French Levis advert. It is as you can imagine it. Terrible. With some upturning collar action and everything.Correlation is not causation.0

Yes that's a very good description.
Anyway nice climb from Vallouise. About 7km at 6-7% or so. Top half had just been resurfaced so that's nice.Correlation is not causation.0 -
Good luck catching Alaphilippe on the descent...."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0

So when I was heading in the opposite direction to where they are now, through the valley from the Aubisque which I'd just gone over, to the Tourmalet, I still had the Tourmalet, Aspin and Perysourde to go.
Guy I was with was being overly chirpy banging on about how pretty it was.
"Rick, I mean, wow, look at this scenery"
"Seriously, shut the f*** up".0 -
