So when I was heading in the opposite direction to where they are now, through the valley from the Aubisque which I'd just gone over, to the Tourmalet, I still had the Tourmalet, Aspin and Perysourde to go.

Guy I was with was being overly chirpy banging on about how pretty it was.

"Rick, I mean, wow, look at this scenery"

    "Seriously, shut the f*** up".

You'd hate to climb with me, I distract myself from the pain by waxing lyrical about the scenery, sometimes just to myself

Yeah but you weight 40kg so we don't sympathise much...

(I, on the other hand, got dropped on a "hill" in Holland last night  )

    Yes.

The pain in my legs after the Aubisque was unbearable and nothing like I'd had before and I couldn't fathom I had 3 climbs still to go, including the Tourmalet.

I really did swing through through a lot of very strong emotions that day.

That's the name of this particular line of Levis. True story.

Anyway Romain Bardet cements his French Exchange Student credentials by starring in a French Levis advert. It is as you can imagine it. Terrible. With some upturning collar action and everything.

Are we talking French double-denim here?

    Of course.

Oh God. I had to look. I just had to.

    He looks good.

    He ALWAYS looks good.

I wish I weighed 40kg, it's more in the 50kg region, and I still get dropped, a lot, by proper mountain dwellers, and by silly billies who don't know how to gauge their efforts and end up broken by the side of the road a few kms later. Happens on every climb.

Front group is playing a lot of silly buggers now. They could lose a lot of time with this feinting and attacking.
