Then on the other side of things, there's Sagan performing like he has with a divorce awaiting him.

I reckon when life is complicated bike racing offers a refuge - pedal harder for longer than the opposition - marriage, divorce or kids shouldn't really be an issue.

Those speculating about Demare hanging onto team cars without any proof of him having done so are no better than those speculating about Froome doping.

He has got previous though tbf, and you have to admit the way he has made the time cuts is pretty fishy!

I mean what a ******* idot. Thomas did damn well to keep control.

If you watch the ITV highlights show, same ag2r "fan" tried to touch Nairo. Hard to tell if it was a pat on the arm or an attempted grab.

(In final km after they came out of the tunnel, guessing 500m ish to go)

Any news on whether 'the long arm of the law'* has caught up with him?

That's exactly the same form of logic the nutters in the Clinic use to cast doubt on Froome. "TUEs, Jiffy bags, salbutamol and you have to admit the way he has improved so dramatically is fishy."

It's unsubstantiated muck unless there comes a time when it is proven to the contrary.

To be fair speculating about stuff is a big part of being on a forum, or you'd be better just skipping to the news section and also I think most people are just reporting on what Greipel said, which is interesting i think, rather than speculating whther he actually did it.

Not surprising, especially after what happened to Nibali. Another shot, as it happened.

My suggestion: they put Froome in a generic non-team jacket to reduce the chances of random passers by having a go at him/trying to push him off, and this had the unintended effect that the police didn't recognise him either.

Avondetappe were on the ball, last night.
They showed it and he did make contact and managed to cause Thomas to slightly lose his balance.

Over to you Rick, for what was said about it.

Was it last year or the year before when Froome cracked trying to follow a break by Aru on a MTF. He was overtaken by one of his own domestiques before the finishline . He still won the tour though.
Sky aren't going to do a Finestre type plan for Froome now that Thomas is so far ahead, but I still think he'll race for second place. and get it

I wonder if he would have endeared himself more to the French public if he'd used "enculer vous" instead of the Anglo-Saxon?

I'm a big Froome fan but don't see how he's going to manage that based on how he has performed in this Tour so far. He'll be lucky to stay on the podium with Roglic breathing down his neck now.

I don't see how he'd be able to grab more than a few seconds without risking Thomas's yellow either. Friday's finish is downhill and Sky will want it ridden as safely as possible, so they won't let Froome open it up. If Roglic goes then he'll likely be allowed to sit on his wheel - if he can follow - but that forces Dumoulin to race.

Obviously the TT will be decisive if the standings remain as they are, and it's a fairly technical winding course with a lot of rolling hills, so there are lots of places to crash and lose a race - for all the GC.

The TT route is far from standard and a lot could happen, good or bad, for all podium contenders.
Bad legs, accidents, good legs and a shot at glory... At least GT will know is required as last man on the road.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Won't help him much if he is the one to crash as per the Dauphine prologue. He only lost 20 seconds or so there but it could be worse, especially if Dumoulin puts him under pressure time-wise. I think Sky have got to try and bump Froome up a bit as insurance and they'd be mad not to if has at all has it in him.

I really couldn't understand why Thomas didn't attack a bit earlier on the last climb yesterday. When Roglic attacked and Thomas went with him they gapped Dumoulin and then let him back on. Thomas should have kept going when Roglic slowed.

You're probably right. But he still has a number one on his bike and NO spectator is THAT skinny. I know he's thin but I've only ever seen him compared to other cyclists, next to mortals in those pictures...

And it's a sad state really that they pro-riders have to have bodyguards.
