Don't think many would have predicted that move!

Neither would he but he knows the system there and worked well in it.

This is a bit of shock. I wouldn't have thought Brailsford would be interested in someone who only comes fourth in July.

Rumour Sosa heading to Sky instead of Trek-Segafredo has been around for month or two now, wonder when it'll be confirmed. Maybe when things are quiet.

Jolanda Neff- who has recently broken young XCO fan's hearts by revealing she's dating one of the DH guys - to join Trek Factory Racing...which I find very surprising!

Wonder if Evie Richards has decided to focus more on CX...?

    Bye bye sprint train.
Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

True - but he's more of a freelancer like Cav, than the traditional 'get dropped off by an uber with 200 to go' like Kittel.

Neff has said she's riding for Trek in XCO, CX and some Road (on the new Deignan-led team) and joining three team mates - Emily Batty the XCO-only rider. Ellen Noble and Evie Richards riding XCO and CX.

From her interviews Evie's heart set on Tokyo Olympics so only option there is XCO - I assume she'll continue to ride U23 XCO next season for Trek combined with Elite cyclocross

    Fair enough. Good knowledge.

I hope she's aloud to keep on being a 'joker' when she rides on the road. I can't much see her being a dutiful domestique...

I'm tempted to ask where Trek is getting all this money from..? But I suppose 1 Man probably still buys 3 or 4 women...

Jolanda can't have come cheap though. There must have been many Swiss brands willing to throw money at her!

In addition to re-signing he interestingly moves onto a newly created supervisory board for the team. I'm guessing he brings sponsors with him and leveraging his position vs Doug Ryder.

If it's not the board of directors what does it actually mean?

Dunno the structure. But it sounds like taking some of the control of the team away from the principal.

Some curious quotes from the press release:
the next phase of his career will additionally see him take on a new and exciting leadership role within the team as part of a newly formed Supervisory Board.
His role will also see him as a part of a number of structural changes within the team from 2019 including the signing of nine new recruits to the rider roster.
This new, streamlined focus is to match the increased level of competition on the World Tour by ensuring the team’s future sustainability, together with the support of our partners,

    Cav says:
Partners and suppliers are incredibly important to me and I’m incredibly excited about our partners for next year and beyond. I’m proud that I’ve grown to know Dimension Data as a company over the past three years and will be taking a more active role closer to them in this next year."

Drapac stepping back from the WT team and re-focusing upon an Australian continental team. Makes EF a bit less of a mouthful...

£250K is a the cost of a fairly average press or big sheet poster campaign for any number of brands. I can think of ones that could get far more leverage and PR value out of working with a positive group of healthy, active females.

Is one year par for the course, or does it suggest one or both parties are unsure about a long term future?
