Ok I just watched this.
Main takeaway; the Movistar/Astana kit similarities are a joke. Way too similar.0 -

Yeah, was a great wee race last year. Looking set for another good one, TTT into Calpe tomorrow I think.0 -

say what you like about the guy, Valverde is a smart rider and looks great on the bike (i'll forgive him for wearing last years socks).

Ditto Luis Leon giving it some flat back style0 -
Wtf? How can you neutralise a TTT and NOT just cancel the flipping thing?
Doesn't sound like Hatch and Stephens are too impressed.

I'm all for rider safety, but no-one was forcing them to ride on time trial bikes. The conditions must have been OK enough to allow the stage to start. They wouldn't complain that they had to ride time trial bikes in a mountain time trial, would they? They'd just choose the most appropriate equipment. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Fair enough to cancel the stage I reckon. Nobody wants to see riders crash out on the opening days of the season.
OK so it wasnt as bad as forecast - but it could have been.
I see they annulled a sandy section of the Victoria Tour today too. Looked like they were on a beach.0 -

The point was that they didn't cancel the stage, just the result.
So, the got quite a bit of stuff like this, as a result:

I'm sure Valverde being in the lead was purely incidental...
Either cancel the stage or count the results, neutralising it was pointless. If the conditions were too bad for TT bikes (which they clearly weren't), mandate the use of road bikes.0 -

Laporte adds to his stage win with a 2nd overall and Yoan Paillot proves he is a tester with another strong performance for third from a rider never been out of a CT team ( Marseille then Auber )

Valverde is just insane. He is always back every year from beginning to end like nothing happened. He is worse than the boogeyman. Worse than John Wick.PTP Champion 2019, 2022 & 20230
