  • With the TT to come, today looks the last chance for Nibz or anyone else to get within striking distance of Froome before the Angliru. Should be good...

Today is crucial for Nibali isn't it. A strong performance here and gaining some decent time and the final week will be very interesting even with the TT. Froome still looks strong to me though and Poels riding into for, is vital. Today will answer a lot of questions though one way or the other. If Froome actually puts time into Nibali it's as good as over. Question is also what can we expect from Nibbles v Froome in the TT on Tuesday time difference wise?

Where was Rosa yesterday, resting up for today with sky's rotation policy or did he blow?
  • I remember seeing the Vuelta on Sierra Nevada years ago - remember two things
Charley Wegelius looking very cold and Santaigo Botero looking very green. I don't mean a bit off colour - I mean is face was like a leaf green ??!!

  • A wickedly hard climb, this.
    Roche is cooked already.

You get to hear the peloton and the motos etc., it's very immersive. And relaxing.

It must be pretty embarrassing for Contador when he puts in these big showboaty attacks and just gets ignored like this.

Froome's still with 3 Sky in front of him.
  • Let the showboating begin.

    Brave move by Lopez.
  • Adam Yates out climbing Contador and Lopez, who are slowly being closed down by the bunch.

    Yates - Contador / Lopez - Yates now 1m15 - 2m25

1:15 with 14.7km to go, would be good for Yates if he can do it.

These time gaps are far too variable to be accurate

I don't understand Froome's tactics at all. Why let dangerous men like Lopez and Contador get over one minutes lead and then let Nibali dictate when the race is going to kick off?
  • On screen time gaps are out. Nibali was shown as 20s when it was about 8s. So pinch of salt.

Nibs now reeled in by Sky

Eurosport Player seems to be a bit temperamental since it was updated. On the plus side it thinks I'm in Germany so no Kirby!

Kirby's blind faith in the 1 minute per 10km rule is charmingly stupid.
