Rocco Schiavone Series 2 episode 1 watched on All4 this morning whilst on the turbo.
As already noted, the first few episodes seemed fairly meh to me, but it's gradually warmed up, and the characters have some real background behind them now.

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realise that the actor who plays the young female detective (?) is not the same one who plays Schiavone's departed wife.

I’m thinking of relocating to Italy. I’m younger than Rocco, more attractive and not smoking myself to death. All the young attractive wedding shop owners will be queuing up 😂

I was a bit disappointed that having got used to the Aoste crowd, they were so under used at the start of the new series.
Okay so it did a good job of filling in Rocco’s back story, but we also got a whole lot of unfamiliar faces.

    Fear Index on Sky

Decent 1st episode (with only 1 major plot hole) which quickly descended into nonsense

    3/10

(Oh. And that first episode plot hole is a chasm as the plot unravels)

Italy is a beautiful place to live, my brother has been there for years now, the oddity being he lives in the place where the first Rocco book was set :D

Yes I know what you mean, but presumably this was a one off to explain the back story, although normally when they do this it is interwoven with a decent amount of time in the present day.

Was slightly surprised that all of series 2 is not on All4, appears they are only making them available after they are shown.

I googled Rocco videos and all I got was hits about a man with a large shlong! Surely this is not what you are discussing? Pray tell of this other Rocco to which you refer.

I’ve no idea who that other Rocco is you’re talking about 😇

The Promise BBC iplayer. French noir from the creators of Spiral. Gripping missing child crime drama spread of 20 years. Well worth a watch.

The Tinder Swindler Netflix. Would normally be the last person to watch anything social media related but this is an unbelievable story and very entertaining.

    Good to know.
I mentioned last week that The Promise could potentially be a decent watch as it was out of the Spiral stable.

Also I had the Tinder Swindler recommended to me yesterday evening, so it’s now on my Netflix watch list,

Friday evening and is it just me, or is the music in Rocco sounding more and more like a Thou Shalt Not Kill re-mix?

Tonight’s is worth watching just for the stunning shots of the southern Alps and Aosta valley.

Ozark - Season 4 should have been the last. It is in danger of overstaying it's welcome.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I’m nearing the end of S2 and find it’s dragging on a bit. Is S3 any better?

There are always just enough plots twists to keep you interested.
Right now I'm getting bored of twists and want major progression if not conclusion.

Chloe, was quite tense at times if not a little stretching the reality. Enjoyed it in the main. Felt like a narrative adaption rather than a straight screenplay.

Currently watching both Reacher and Dopesick.

Reacher is a far closer adaptation of the books than the films. I like Tom Cruise but Reachers stature is a big part of the books.
The programme is enjoyable although Reacher himself seems to lack a bit of nuance. I assume there aren’t too many huge actors to pick from.

Dopesick is both excellent and disturbing. Lots of concurrent stories means there are loads of gaps to fill yourself and yet it is so well crafted it works.

Not sure how much nuance you can squeeze out of the character Reacher. Big guy, doesn’t say much, on the spectrum, psychopath.

Agree it's a big part of the character but he's also a skilled investigator. There's no investigation, just Derren Brown like observation.

Much as I enjoyed the series I actually found he was played with a bit too much humour if anything (and what was with the weird way the actor walks?).

I noticed that too. First Reacher scene, big tough guy walking down the highway with a silly little walk.

Louis Theroux's new stuff on BBC...

First one is worth a watch, the second isnt.

The trouble Louis has now is that these people have worked out how to use him and not reveal their true selves by mistake as their forefathers did. The first one is rather scary...

Noticed the 3rd or 4th killing eve series starts soon.

I appreciate they are all good actors, but do feel it was overhyped somewhat, and really (for me) glamourised violence.

I'll likely watch it, having watched all that came before, but it will be from duty as opposed to a genuine want.

At least it’s the last series.

Definitely the hype far outweighs the heavily stylised content.

Easy for forget how many. Season 3 was stretched very thinly. Not expecting much from 4.
