    1 lousy second.
Would have been fitting, given the shiitey French crowd.

the home crowd wanted the home rider to win whats shittey about that.

They might want the home rider to win but that does not require booing their opponents. That's just peasant behaviour.

It looked to me like landa sat up before the line to.

That 20 second time penalty that Bardet probably should have got has come in quite handy.

Yeah it's funny because if rather than taking it off Uran and instead they also gave it to Bardet, then Uran would still be in 2nd but Landa would now be in 3rd.

Funny old sport this eh? :D

Kwiato is the bomb. He's busted himself all Tour and he still puts in a TT like that.

He's the winner in my heart today.

So Sky lost a podium and a stage win by less time than it's taken you to read this sentence.

Nicolas Portal has now won as many Tours as a DS as Cyrille Guimard did. He's only 38.

I'm glad for Bardet that he didn't lose his podium place, but not for the French crowd.

    Stay classy, France.
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

That 1 second is probably the final nail in the coffin of Landa's Sky contract.
    Bottlegate proves very costly.

The overall Prix de la combativité was given to Barguil, with a little help from the "public's" vote.

A visibly upset Bardet, sitting in the fetal position. In reality, he should be celebrating.

Riis saying Bardet is now so full of lactic acid that there's a big chance he could find himself behind a split in the peloton tomorrow if he isn't really on his game.

I'd love to see Sky go for it tomorrow and try to get Landa on the podium

Yer, but never let the public vote for anything.

For all the talk of unwritten rules and last day parties etc it's sometimes forgotten that once the race hits the Champs Elysees it's 'race on'. Landa or anyone else has every right to attack off the front or race for any bonus seconds on the line.

It just doesn't happen as the gaps are near impossible to open and sustain

It would be nice to see Chavanel and Voeckler lead the race into Paris.

The best bet would be to place Landa up with the sprinters and see if gaps happen.

From the tweets of FDJ and the comments of the riders in various interviews, thats it, the GC contest is over. So Landa will get up only if there is an unintended incident that effects Bardet... so it seems.

Did Quintana the "greatest rider in the world" make the top 10 this year?

I'm not Quintana's biggest fan however, he has ridden the last four grand tours - with the following results:

    1. TdF 2016 - 3rd.
    2. VaE 2016 - 1st.
    3. GdI 2017 - 2nd.
    4. TdF 2017 - 12th (provisional).

I don't know of any cyclist who has ever produced this over 4 consecutive grand tours. Surely we can allow him to be slightly off his game for the TdF?

Carlos Betancur did a good ride today and has ridden a solid Tour to finish in the Top-20. He is firmly established on the road to redemption now. Let's hope he gets back to his former greatness.

    Bardet was damn lucky.

Has a fan tried to give Bardet his Peyresourde bottle back?

    Yea, I think we can.

    On an historical note, Marino Lejarreta finished;
    5th, 1990 TdF,
    7th, 1990 Giro
    3rd, 1991 Vuelta,
    5th, 1991 Giro.

He rode all three Grand Tours in 1987, 1989, 1990 and 1991. Bit of an animal.
