Should never have given them the vote...

Here's the AG2R response (which presumably is translated from French, so you'll get a 2nd translation from Dutch)
"We hebben het interview gelezen. Het is duidelijk dat Jan grappig wou zijn, maar dit was toch vooral een geval van slechte smaak. We bieden onze excuses aan aan de organisatie en aan iedereen die door zich door de opmerking geschoffeerd voelt."
We’ve read the interview. It’s clear that Jan was trying to be funny, but was very much more an instance of bad taste. We offer our apologies to the organisers [of the Tour] and anyone who felt offended by the comments.”0 -

Mountain out of molehill - welcome to the Tour.
I suspect the interview was done in one language, then translated through several others and lost all context. He was trying to be funny, and as you say making reference to Dekker's biography.0 -

Robert Millar's preview, team by team.
Haven't read it, so not entirely sure if it's THE Robert Millar.
I got stuck on the first team blurb - claims that AG2R and La Mondiale are different companies... they aren't despite what wikipedia may say.
My understanding was the ownership structure was only right at the very top; they still need to fund themselves independently etc.
Single Group. Single CEO, Single Branding. Yes, below it all gets a bit complicated, but fundamentally it is one big insurance group - and that's the group sponsoring the cycling team. My point is that wikipedia's page on the cycling team implies that AG2R and La Mondiale are two different companies and I'm pretty sure that's where the info in 'Millar's' piece comes from... it's sloppy.
Yup ya so right - not a specialist article and it's including inaccuracies like this... unforgivable
Come off it - it a bloody paper!'Do not compare your bike to others, for always there will be greater and lesser bikes'0 -

Froome's tell is the number of teammates he has riding on the front with 5km to go. (The more he has the worse he feels)Twitter: @RichN950 -

He basically said "When I feel bad, I look at my stem."0

Thing is he rides with his head down far too much anyway so very hard to tell0 -
Just a slight observation.. but how stupid does Uran look?

Does seem to be a trend in sunglasses to revert back to the ski style ones from the 80s. Much as I'm a Sagan fan I really don't like the glasses he's wearing this year0 -

Sky's New Jersey for the tour. Looks more like a football top!

New Katusha kit for the TdF... also picking up on the white theme...
My man Kristoff looking suitably moody given the rumours that he's out of the team next year...

I quite like the name on the back, makes it easier for us to see when the commentator is misidentifying the rider
Edit: Flaneur got there firstIt's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -

No point with Kirby, they're all called Froome for him0 -

Interestingly IAM weren't allowed to put names on the back of their jerseys.

The UCI said in a statement: “It’s clear in the UCI Regulations that the upper section of any jersey shall be reserved for the team’s principal sponsors.0
