Sagan takes it in a sprint from a small group of mostly GC contenders in the most obvious finish ever! Carlton still chatting rubbish about how Uran might out sprint Sagan, WTF.

Sagan now beating the GC boys on cliffs.
Tis getting a bit boring imo.
A handful of Haribos and he'll be winning the sprint tomorrow.
The GC guys who came over the top of the climb with a bit of a lead didn't exactly push on though- once they didn't have a gap on Sagan it was obvious what the outcome would be.

My personal favourite today was his exclamation that people would now name the climb after Sagan following his win.

Is anyone paying attention to the cadence, power, speed graphic?

Supposed to be some massive innovation but can't see anyone referring to the numbers anywhere.

I mentioned this on Friday. No... it's a totally useless innovation. Adds sum total of zero to the coverage.

I took a cursory look, and mainly felt sad about how poor my own numbers are by comparison...

Interesting as a bit of a curiosity, but didn't make any difference to how I viewed the race.

Probably will add fuel to the armchair doping experts

Train stoppage. This wouldn't have happened under Mussolini

That depends on your view of history:

He supposedly made the trains run on time, so it's likely he would have stopped everything else for this, including a bike race.

But as the facts are that he didn't make the trains run on time, you are probably correct. But not in the way you meant to be.

It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Making the break wait when they wanted to go for the KOM went down well :)

Roman Kreuziger out today. Clearly some bug going around the Orica-Scott bus after Yates pulled out yesterday...

It was nothing more than a jocular reference to the well known phrase about Mussolini and trains. I have no desire to turn this thread into an examination of the Italian railway system of the 1930s. :)

More evidence of the pro (or was it anti) Mussolini bias of this forum.

Terpstra has bridged over to the remains of the break - looking solid.

    Sagan now doing the same!

Dramatic for a sprinters stage. Big old crash from that UAE rider off the front.

Cav and qhubeka managed to get distanced before the sprint

Gaviria takes it by a whisker on Sagan

Gaviria beats the usual stage protagonist.
A number of splits there. I wonder whether or not the GC will be effected?

Everybody made the 6 second split group behind Geraint then.
11 seconds could have been handy for tomorrow.

know anything about Egan Arley Bernal ? 20 yr old Colombian leading the white jersey comp? He was consistently good in the last years Avenir in the mountains (but not as good as Gaudu :) )

Is that Swiss Tony on the right??

    4th in last year's Tour de l'Avenir.
5th last week in the GP Industria and the only 4 pointer in my Velogames team, although I could have done better with his mountain man team mate.
