Kadyrov rules the Chechen Republic through despotism and repression.[7][8][9][10] Over the years, he has come under criticism from international organisations for a wide array of human rights abuses under his watch, with Human Rights Watch calling the forced disappearances and torture so widespread they constituted crimes against humanity.[11] During his tenure, he has advocated restricting the public lives of women, and led anti-gay purges in the Republic.[12][13] Ramzan Kadyrov has been frequently accused of involvement in the kidnapping, assassination, and torture of human rights activists, critics, and their relatives, within both Chechnya as well as in other regions of the Russian Federation and abroad, through the political use of police and military forces.

Given the economic effects of this conflict, here's a hypothetical:

Western govts, get together and put a £250m bounty on Putins head plus guarantees:
A complete withdrawal from Ukraine and in return, a lifting of sanctions.
Then people on the inside might just be tempted.
Also, Putin may become totally isolated if the lifting of sanctions comes with fulfilling the bounty.

I know there's a $50m dollar bounty on his head but it's not enough.

Western democracies can't go around putting bounties on the heads of states of other countries. They can however bar him from ever coming into their country and they can refuse to lift sanctions until he is gone though. I think state sponsored assassinations is a step too far to the world of the rogue states personally.

One doesn't have to go public with the offer.
The cost of this war will run into untold millions (never mind the tragic loss of life) and such a move could be classed as sheer economics.

Tbf, Shineyboots will have to go where mad vlad tells him to go.

its part of the reason why all the generals were slotted - they were told to go closer to the front to promote morale, which, looking back on it, maybe wasn't such a great idea.

tbf though, not sure appointing a chechyn (sic) war criminal will really gel the Russian armed forces together at a time when they're getting smashed to bits....

tbh though, I think they realise yhat it won't be a poisoning - as he's a Chechyn (sic) they've just take him to the nearest cellar and slot him.

Political military rivals will be happy, no one else will care as there will be a power vacuum at the top to be filled.

well yeah, the russians have already said they are going to concentrate on the Donbras region, so move assets from somewhere to somewhere new.

    thats the official line

unofficially they are getting nowhere, so move on.

from the Ukranian POV, transporting assets means means convoys, means rich pickings.

Western govts, get together and put a £250m bounty on Putins head plus guarantees:

Then people on the inside might just be tempted.
Also, Putin may become totally isolated if the lifting of sanctions comes with fulfilling the bounty.
