Must be something about plants and new cameras.Pross said:Quick test snap
This was one of my first with my new DSLR in 2006. I had an SLR prior.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Your company might want to update their IT equipment, that makes even my setup look modern!
It's fine. It's how we've always done it...Ben

They just wither and die in my experience. Green fingered I am not. 😉masjer said:The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Just heard a steam train go through on the line a couple of hundred metres from me, wish I'd known in advance as that would have been a perfect trial.0

Needs some cropping and tidying up but this view rarely disappoints.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

I think I do 'cheesy' quite well. I might offer this to the Devon Tourist Information Board to publicise the delights of the Exe Estuary Trail for cyclists. Art it ain't.

Today's I'm bored at work shot. Meets the spec of being in the room but with a bit of colour this time. I'm thinking about a new theme, "What's that Grandad?"

What can I say, it's a slow day at work but my constant presence is required in case something crops up. Just keeping myself occupied...

I'd have liked to have gotten outside for a bit. That's me for the weekend now though! 😃
PS - Not had a pair of trainers like that since the early 80s. 😉

More sunset from the train. The site compression has really muddied the top one. Or maybe it's me.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

I find if I resize down to 1200 pixels then the compression isn't so bad.rjsterry said:

By time I got out of choir it was halfan hour too late again, view from Keeper's Pond (top of the Tumble climb) towards the Beacons / Pen y Fan in one direction and the Sugar Loaf / Black Mountains in the other.

The sky was a lovely very dark blue and this caught it quite nicely but there wasn't much in the way of a foreground and the crescent moon was too high to get any composition

I thoroughly recommend it. You don't even need to take photos. 😉 A phone will do.micaab said:

I find it to be very calming and therapeutic, assuming you can get the time to do it without rushing.
PS - Does your phone not have a grid display option to help with horizons? The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Editing software, including the stuff built into camera phone software, will allow you to rotate the image to straighten a horizon (although it obviously crops the image a bit. However, as PB says most cameras / phones will have an option to turn a grid on in the viewfinder. It really helped me, it's great for composing the shot as well as keeping lines horizontal or vertical.1
