The location game is much easier with half the street name included. The bottom car, and possibly the second, were there when Google drove past.

So these are all on different roads. Only the Beatle is on Gatcombe Road. The Triumph may well have also been parked on Gatcombe Road when Google went by though.

Unless you're telling me you know where the Triumph is, in the photo above, but I think it's something else under that cover when looking on Google!

@pblakeney I recognise the location, but cannot quite place it.

    I can't remember anyway! 🤣🤣🤣

I can't help either. Unless it is trickery from the camera angle, the road looks wide which should narrow it down. As should the red brick building next to office blocks. But the key question is whether it is actually London.

    Oh, it is definitely London.
Probably Holborn to Spitalfields but we were on walkabout.

Major clues. The saved shots either side.

Apologies for my speed. I'm still blaming post covid brain fog.

It's a clock in Smithfields market. So you walked from there to LMNH.

You shouldn't be. I've walked down there many times and still needed the clues to get it!

Anyway, to get the thread back on track, here's a photo of exactly four years ago... it still fascinates me how it looks like I've B&W'ed the rest of the photo, leaving the phone box in colour.

I think you win on the photography, I win on the snow levels. 😉
A bit more colour in this one from today 4 years ago.

Haha, yes. Any snow at all in Topsham is remarkable... only had a few proper ones in my 30 years here.

I've always liked historical industrial B/W photos, foundries, shipbuilding, factories etc.
I like the chap's attitude to safety painting Blackpool Tower and that munitions factory looks like a relaxing place to work.

I miss old Fred. Fair enough being confident on a ladder and standing at height on a fairly narrow edge. But add swinging a heavy hammer into the mix! No thank you.

A steam hammer with a 100 ton blow. I bet that made your ears ring!

Yeh God bless him. Took his wife to Rochdale steam fair every year, for their holiday, and couldn't understand why she left him.

I did my apprenticeship at a place with several of those. On a still night I could hear them at home 4 miles away.

It became pretty obvious that the sunset isn't going to come to anything so....
