    BIG PENIS!
I had you favourite to spot that, with pinno close second.

Oh, thanks Ben. Part luck, part judgement, part cool dog.

    Nice apse.

It's probably all the running around that the cat does chasing the dog that keeps it in trim.

    Oh, sorry, apse.

Almost properly symmetrical... if only they had got those big square planters lined up with reference to the building, not the trees. Still, not bad.

Nice shadows on the building, and proper deep blue sky too. Shame about the sign/bin.
I hope Sean doesn't come along shortly, telling you he's spotted a penis. Can't see one myself, but he's good at that sort of thing.

I'll admit that when I'm photographing church interiors, if moveable things spoil a shot, and there's no-one about, I sometimes move things (and put them back, obviously). It's harder with fixed street furniture.

It's a nice time to be photographing, as without the leaves on the trees, you get to see stuff you don't see from May till late autumn, both views and buildings.

    What a sky! Love it

Tilting the camera upwards unfortunately makes the buildings fall away, can't be avoided sometimes. A little perspective adjustment does help though I think

Fancy somebody parking their bicycle right in front of the doors, can you believe it? ;)

    Nice shot BT

    Thanks.

Yes, sometimes I do correct perspective when the shot is good enough to take it realistically... there are a couple of handy one in the android photo editor app I use, but the basic plug-in in Irfanview is clunky, so I tend not to bother for quick snaps (which is what this is).

One thing I do do much more liberally these days is to crop... at one point I tried to stick within the standard 4:3 ratio, as I would have done in the old days with processed prints, but so often you end up with dead areas of no interest. I'm learning not to always zoom in right to the frame I think I want 'in the field', so I can later judge on the big screen what works best. Though of course it's satisfying if I have got everything right in the original framing. I rarely spend more than 10 seconds doing tweaking on a photo, unless it's a shot that I'm going to use for something other than a Facebook post or similar.

Oh, I will admit to spending more time photoshopping out really intrusive wires or pylons from time to time: particularly in France, they do seem to put them right in the way of a beautiful view.

Anyway, I went for a walk from home this morning, so I could take a photo of it :)

That sounds like a place I'd like to walk with more salamanders than people, especially when they smile at you.

Different beach, but similar idea. I must take something other than a sunset this weekend.

Dunno. I'm thinking of updating my old camera. That means new lenses. I could buy a decent bike for the money. Just glad I am happy with my bikes as a choice would be hard.

My problem is if I think there's a cracker of a sunset coming up, and I'm supposed to be busy doing something else at the crucial hour... do I try to make pathetic excuses to try to shift the appointment?

I guess that depends on the seriousness of the "something else".
And the consequences of not doing that.

Then the sunset fizzles out and does nothing.
