More 'against day' (seeing as we probably ought not to use Frenchisms now we're out of the EU)

Meh, you've made my waterfall pictures look like the amateur shite they are now!Wheelspinner said:Been doing some file sorting... found this image from a few years ago on a walk in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney.
The original is beautifully sharp and detailed. Must find my password for the hosting site I had this on...0 -

The bit I've still not got round to on my Sony is long exposures to get shots like this with water. I do also like the ones that catch individual droplets etc., but ones like this are very effective.0 -
I did a few with the super slo mo option on my phone that look quite nice but video rather than photo.0

But I want to maintain etiquette and not sabotage the thread as that would be a faux-pas.The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.1 -
When we sold up in Sydney to leave, the Blue Mountains was high on the list of places to live. Was just too expensive to buy what we wanted...surrey_commuter said:
the depth perception on there is messing with my eyes/mind - as a Dali fan that is a good thing.
The Blue Mountains are one of the few places I have been to that lived up to their colour
It's a spectacularly beautiful area. OH's cousin lives up there. We visited 5 years ago towards the end of winter, got lucky with a cracking day. This is his home and garden.

I had a phase of trying lots of long exposure shots and found that for the very great majority of them, the final image didn't really work.
With this waterfall I took probably 50 shots from various angles, all sorts of camera variations, and even tried taking a dozen or so to "stack" to see what that looked like with the water. (It was rubbish). This one image just stood out. EXIF tells me it was 25 seconds at low ISO, and I'm fairly sure I had either a 6 or 10 stop ND filter on the lens.

200 x 300 = 60,000 pixels or pixies as Brian would have it = 60 kilo pixels > 60 killer pixies.
