    Martello Tower.
There were about 30 swans to the right, which I initially hoped would shift over into frame. Looking now, I'm glad they didn't.

Agree. Very nice. Ideally I'd have asked that ferry to move back a bit as well 😁.

Thanks. At the time I was happy to include the ferry (context), but as you say, without it may well’ve been better. The less is more approach often wins the day.
Ferries, cranes, swans be off with you!

Managed to get some lovely aurora shots over the marina in Narvik on Sunday night. Only just signal again so will post one tomorrow, I managed to get the Northern Lights and the bit of the Milky Way that is still visible in the same shot which I’m chuffed with (took some editing to get the light pollution from the town down and allow the Milky Way to become visible). Was nice to have some foreground for the shots instead of just ocean.

Fell in love with Narvik, heading back tonight in the hope of more lights

Hey, I see you’ve gained some real snowman building prowess. :)

Yup, I can see why you've fallen for Narvik, that last picture is a stunner.
I’m on Cunard so had someone build them for me 😂

To be fair the scenery combined with it being golden hour pretty much from dawn to dusk made it pretty easy to get something half decent but I also love that one.

No sunrise visible in Topsham, so making do with autumnal greyness and foliage tat...

A shot of me looking forlornly for a sunset that never happened. 😉

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Never mind, sunsets are so last year, it’s auroras now. I see you’ve got the ultra slippy variety of rocks that are out to get you with every tentative footstep.

I was ultra careful. Sad story alert!

A guy I worked with retired on a Friday. Went for a stroll on the beach on the Saturday, slipped on the rocks, banged his head and died. Beware hoping for a long retirement. 😢

On a more positive note, after owning my camera for 10 years I've finally figured out that I can use the interval timer. 🤣

    Not good at all.

I think my (nearly) five years of post concussion syndrome from my bike tumble was the better option of the two. And yes, I was wearing a helmet.

A cluttered foreground would have ruined long exposure clouds at sunset but it's boring without a foreground. Hmmmm 🤔

Nice ones @mrb123 - I ought to have been out first thing too, but a warm duvet won the argument.

    Lovely morning.

Not the greatest photo as it was on max zoom and then cropped, but it'll do for their nice pose!

I was up in the Elan Valley today so stayed on hoping for clear skies as it’s a Dark Sky Reserve but it had clouded up and the moon was too bright to do any Astro stuff. I was also getting red alerts to say the aurora should be visible pretty much anywhere in the UK so if you’ve got clear, dark skies it might be worth got out for a look (that moon won’t help but is moving away from the northern sky now).

    Southern lights... or Topsham tat...

Are you dropping us some hints as to what you want for Christmas?

I stumbled across these gnarly oaks at the end of a walk. I’m surprised they came out (v low light, wide open aperture, high ISO, handheld). A right jumble of branches, which given their situation, would’ve been difficult to shoot any other way.
The row of trees borders a cycle track, which often have some sheep dotted around the base of the trees. I wonder where they’ve gone?🤔
