It's laying in a horizontal position?
No. Think about what convex mirrors do.0 -
Is the image inverted? This doesn't seem quite right...0

Yup... - on the inside of bells my reflection is the right way up (c a kind of convex mirror), and on the inside it's vertically flipped (concave - well inside of a tube concave... it's concave on the vertical axis and convex on the horizontal - a parabolic flare).
In other words, if I look at my reflection on the outside of the bell, I'm upside down, but if I stick out my right arm, the reflection of my right arm is on the right side of the reflection.
So by rotating the image by 180°, I've ended up with a photo of me the right way round, not a mirror image.
Hmm, I'm sure there would be a better way to explain that...

Took a trip into Padstow this evening. Unfortunately my camera lens has got some kind of mark on it so need to get the airbrush on most of my pictures. Hoping it's just dirt but hasn't come off with a wipe so could be a scratch.

It felt like continental warmth tonight. The sunset didn't materialise, so a change of plan.

I hope it comes off... it's bad enough when you realise when you get home and look at the photos that you've got a finger mark on the lens.0 -
Only took the phone today got touring West Cornwall. Lots of turquoise seas and cornflower blue skies. Found a use for the most annoying of Cornish residents

Doubt it will win me wildlife photographer of the year but saw these baby voles on the side of the road on my run and came back with my camera and adustpan to try to get them into the safety of the verge as the couldn't climb the verge. Rescued one and the other ran off down the road to join another hiding in a crack in the kerb

Doves in the full moon or is it?

Decided landscape photography is so yesterday and that I should try my hand at wildlife
Problem is getting them to do what you want, when you want it - I lost count how many times I asked them to dive more slowly so I could focus

My reverse lens mount arrived, so chased some bugs around the garden. Windy again, making it doubly difficult. Next time I'll try and find something that crawls rather than flies.

The leaden clouds suggested that B&W might work... I quite like the threatening feel, and the way the church rooflines are brought out.

Nice touch of gothic.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

Helped by the pinnacles too - surprisingly slender and detailed for granite. It's Mabe, BTW, near Penryn. Sadly it was locked - I don't remember seeing so much unrestored/original window tracery, some of it delightfully wonky.0 -

The whole weekend was a complete washout, but the grey mizzle finally cleared.

Edit- tweaked white balance.

This probably caught the conditions best.

There was a stunning sunset at Topsham.
But I was at Bristol.0 -
Compositionally I prefer the first one with the light pointing to the rocks but the lighting is better in the second. It's not easy this malarkey. 😉masjer said:This probably caught the conditions best.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.1 -
I was just glad to take anything after that weekend.pblakeney said:

Instead of a cheesy holiday snap, you can have a short-toed eagle today.

The flowers put a nice splash of colour in the foreground.
