Windy and mist in the hills so will be dodgy for WRR.
Good interview with him, top bloke.
I thought GB only qualified with one person for the TT? or is he going to replace Froome?
He said an extra space may be available because other countries haven't used all or any of their allocation.0 -

No he won't be replacing Froome. It was because there are slots free from people who now can't do it, or pulling out (other countries).
A possibility only.0 -

What is the thinking behind the TT riders having to race the RR?
Tom Dumoulin made a mockery of the race and the rules yesterday.0 -

TD has got a broken wrist, remember. Making a mockery of the rules is the French starting a track sprinter in the road race like they did in 2012. I do agree that the rider quotas are a nonsense though, especially when you consider the number of athletes the track and field teams can take just to race in the relays!0 -

He said he is at 100% despite the broken wrist. Imagine how many dutch cyclists would have loved to have worn that kit yesterday.
What's the story with the French?
Did anyone else see this Taarame climbing the fence because he spent two laps in the feed zone and didn't want to cross the line.

theres a loophole that says you can start the road race, but also compete on the track team, but then you dont count against the track team numbers.
So Cav could have been picked for the 5man road team, and then they could have picked another rider in the track endurance squad to give them more rider options for instance, and Cav could still have done the track.
so the French entered a track rider in 2012 who rode 1km of the road race and stopped :roll:0 -
Surprising to see that well-known climber Maximilian Levy in the German team at the start yday0
-
GB have made this road race very difficult for themselves. Lots of good riders from a range of nations up the road.0
-
So the loud bang yesterday was a controlled explosion.0
